-sigh-

I really think DONT GIVE UP would be one of the most useful chants a fanbase could offer up. I mean LETS GO _blank_ doesn't really mean anything. Go where? I'm low on gas and you need a jacket.

Vangor: Frozen_Puck: Black dude still in the Cats window... wow, he's been hanging out there for like 10 minutes at least.

Motherf*cker is just staring me down through the camera since I made that "void" comment. I'm sorry guy! I'll buy you a drink if you want.

He won't leave! Still there!

Tonight's WhoWins.com crazy fact: Only once in NHL history has their been a Game 7 between (a) a team that won Game 7 at home the previous round and (b) a team that won Game 7 on the road in the previous round. In that situation, the 2003 Minnesota Wild won their second-straight road Game 7 (and came back from down 1-3 for the second straight round) by defeating the Vancouver Canucks (the Wild then got slaughtered by the Mighty Ducks in the next round).

i don't feel like any Caps player is going I WON'T WANNA STOP PLAYING HOCKEY AFTER TONIGHT enough yet.

but at the same time, Henrik has saved his team from being bondaged at least 4 times.

2012-05-12 09:00:56 PM
Geez, is this just how it usually works for the Caps? They get hope and then slowly collapse like a flan in a cupboard?

2012-05-12 09:01:21 PM

yookaloco: Nostalgia sweetens it. But it was definitely ahead of its time.

Yeah, I'll be able to watch it when I'm 90, and still be moved by it.

But my kids won't get have the same reaction - and I wouldn't expect even Gen Y'ers or millenials to get it either.

I've been switching back and forth between NBC and CBC and I have to say that I like the NBC announcers better. They're much more lively and into the game than the dudes on CBC, who sound like they'd rather be somewhere else.

Welcome to Washington.

There's a reason they never get beyond round 2.

No. Sometimes they fail in spectacular fashion in game seven.

2012-05-12 09:02:54 PM
No. No it won't be an entertaining film to watch. And you know it. Stop lying, Doc.

Understood, but I guarantee you, while Soopey (I think) may not be one of them, plenty of people born a dozen years after it hit theaters can watch it and "get it". Not all of them, but not all of it's appeal is nostalgia. It's a well made film. It's just not for everyone, like so many films.

Hah, well that certainly answers that.

I remember a time that they made it all the way to the finals and put up a hell of a fight. Just kidding, the Wings swept them.

good 2nd period. Kenrik saved it from being tied. NYR defense doesn't seem to care.

Still 1-0 after 2.

That reminds me of my favorite sex note.... that I can always remember all of anyway.

So, I learned recently that I am the product of an accident. I was ok with that, because I always suspected it. It was the details I later learned that really upset me. Apparently, it was the messiest oral EVAR!!!

Yeah, probably screwed that up. Damn you vodak. Better check on the dog, make sure he didn't eat his own leg or anything.

That 2003 series was an awesome one (from my point of view anyway). If I'm remembering things right the Mighty Ducks/Giguere almost shut them out all four games, I think that the Wild only got one goal in the entire series & that came in game four. At the time we didn't think it could get any better than sweeping the Red Wings in the first round*, but then to see Jiggy almost run a shutout for the entire series was just incredible.

/*I'll have to see if I can find it but someone here did a p-shop of Baghdad Bob explaining things from Detroit's perspective (this was just a few weeks after the invasion/war started
