bluorangefyre: Other questions:

Will Farkers not turn this into a Danica pics thread?

Will it be an official race if Danica wrecks?

Will the Lady in Black give Danica a pass?

They always refer to the winner of the Darlington race as the one who "tamed the Lady in Black."

Now if Danica tamed her... Kinky!

Huh. Boring, soulless racing with no real rivals and storylines, and the 48 is leading.

Jensaarai: I get how Hamlin's car is supposed to be a tribute.. you know, minus the colors and all.

But does anyone else think it looks like one of those old Marlboro race cars? Or at least what one would look like if they were ever in NASCAR?

Maybe a BRM Marlboro livey

That's because NASCAR, in it's infinite wisdom, decided to "fix" the cars so that they couldn't actually race close to each other, thereby eliminating the elements that actually made a NASCAR race fun to watch (i.e. cars bouncing off each other, pushing each other around, and punting each other into the walls).

Per http://Racing-Reference.info and @montedutton, longest green-flag run at Darlington was 1963 Southern 500. 364 laps. 0 cautions.

Given how F1 has been this year? It appears a member of the France family is running F1. There's a Williams on the pole for the race tomorrow. No, we didn't just all time travel back to 1998.

Yup. The game has an annoying issue where you have to make colors a bit too bright/color shifted towards the yellow end of the spectrum if you want it to look right on track. I'm just too lazy to load it up on a course and take a pic.

I may have to make that one. Or do you have any particular requests? I love racing old or weird paint schemes online just to see how folks react. Before this race I was using my 2012 Mercedes Petronas F1 livery and my 1992 Darrell Waltrip Western Auto scheme. I also have the old Nissan prototype paint scheme, a 11 Bill Elliott, 28 Cale Yarborough Hardees, a 26 Quacker State Buick, and a #3 Texaco Goodwrench Valvoline Phillips 66 Motorcraft car.

If you have a screenshot of a cool old car that doesn't have a fiddly logo I'll certainly give it a shot.

Yeah, it was the F1 cars that were more red, IIRC. I always preferred the red, so I made something that will look like a deep reddish orange on track.

I was at the 1993 Indy 500, which Emerson Fittipaldi won. It's amazing how bright the TV Reds are. And that Menards chartreuse is almost physically painful in person.

I'm looking at how this race is developing, and it looks like Truex or Kahne may be the best bets for beating Jimmie.

I'd include Hamlin or Kyle in there, but they don't seem to be quite so lively at the end of runs like they need to be. Maybe that will change.
