Goddammit, I watch like three network shows and Awake was one of them. They probably didn't have an ending in mind anyway.

Sorry about Pan Am, Ricci, grab a sandwich and come on over, I'll cheer you up.

2012-05-12 09:31:58 AM
The only one of those that I had ever watched was Alcatraz and after a few shows, it was more and more difficult to stay interested.

2012-05-12 09:37:47 AM
The Finder wasn't the worst show, it had potential. Oh well.

2012-05-12 09:47:17 AM
I really like Awake. :-/

So much this

It had tremendous potential. I dont know what happened, but I lost interest quickly, like after 6 episodes or so.

/Why hasnt CBS cancelled this seasons Survivor?

So are they going to give an answer to what's going on? I only watched part of the first episode.

2012-05-12 10:28:06 AM
The River was pretty great for a 6 episode experiment. Why they would consider putting it past that is beyond me.

2012-05-12 10:52:06 AM
I'm pissed "Harry's Law" and "A Gifted Man" got canned... watched both of them regularly.

2012-05-12 11:01:18 AM
My brain is obvioiusly not firing on all cylinders this morning. I read the first sentence of the headline, "17 shows you've never heard of get the axe," several times, and couldn't figure out what it meant--my thought was "WTF does '17' mean here, and how does it show I've never heard of the phrase 'get the axe'?"

cman: /Why hasnt CBS cancelled this seasons Survivor?

Judging by how fervently my parents watched it when they visited earlier this week, people are watching it.

That's a shame. I actually enjoyed The Finder.

2012-05-12 12:07:56 PM
I liked Alcatraz well enough but it could have been so much better.

2012-05-12 12:08:15 PM
This is really going to suck. My wife watched some of those (Ringer, Missing, Alcatraz, and The River) and they were at least somewhat tolerable when compared to the reality shows she typically watches (Dancing with the Stars, anything about weddings or wedding dresses or bridesmaids and their dresses, the Duggars, midgets, you name the piece of crap).

Now she's going to find more reality garbage to fill her evenings.

I has a sad.

A two hour wrap up would be nice.

The wierd doctor that never aged was a freakin' hottie.

And the blonde cop wasn't too shabby either.

Mugato: Goddammit, I watch like three network shows and Awake was one of them. They probably didn't have an ending in mind anyway.

When I heard about the show, my first thought was "how are they going to string this out for more than one season?" It would make a good premise for a movie or a limited series, but I could never imagine how it could hang around without descending to a Heroes level of plot mangling suckitude.

2012-05-12 12:13:10 PM
The Finder is sort of fun.

So is "breaking in" but i can't see that show going anywhere.

that was kind of my impression. My wife watches it and I don't really find it bad, but it's just obviously something that would've spun out of control after 2 or 3 seasons, if that.

Really bad. I'm just assuming she has crazy oral skills or something (excellent cook?) to make up for that amount of bullshiat. I think my wife even watching that amount of TV would bum me out.

2012-05-12 12:18:50 PM
I liked the first season of Harry's Law but couldn't summon enough interest for a second.
I wanted to get started on Awake but got too far behind to catch up.
Breaking In was fun but I never watched it regularily.
I loved The Firm but it had nowhere to go beyond a season or two. How many law firms with evil underlying schemes can one man join?
the rest I've never heard of or if I had, just passed out of hand.

Asa Phelps: The Finder is sort of fun.

I didn't think The Finder was going to be very good when it was a backdoor pilot episode of Bones, but the characters turned out to be really interesting.

2012-05-12 12:30:47 PM
A few of those shows I watched and enjoyed.
I'll miss watching them.

One of those shows paid me.
I'll miss the steady paycheck.

2012-05-12 12:31:40 PM
I've seen two of those, and they were both terrible. For once, they got it right.

But neither of them got the axe and to bring them up you've obviously heard of them.... if you are going to troll at least make sense.

Yeah, and with the season/series finale last night, it ends with 3 massive cliffhangers.
Yay.

Fun show though, if you could get past the idea of the blonde gypsy and the Eric Roberts gypsy.

kxs401: I really like Awake. :-/

Me, too. This sucks.

With two episodes left, I hope there's at least some closure, even if we're left with the impression that Britten will continue to live both lives.

Good news, though - Person of Interest got renewed.

2012-05-12 12:44:58 PM
Umm, RealityShowTardMitter,

Awake was the best show on tv this year.

God. Damn. It. So. Much.

2012-05-12 12:49:27 PM
Dammit. I loved The Finder, but could convince no one at all to watch it. Oh well...

Carth: The list by network:
"Ringer" (The CW)
"Alcatraz" (Fox)
"Breaking In" (Fox)
"The River" (ABC)
"A Gifted Man" (CBS)

Ringer was one hell of a ride and damn it will be missed.
Alcatraz dragged out too much. Needed to resolve things better.
Breaking In SUCKED when they added Megan Mullalley
The River was awesome. Scary as hell.
Gifted Man was interesting.

2012-05-12 12:54:27 PM
Wasn't The River a mini series? Oh well, it was decent, all the others...eh.

2012-05-12 12:57:03 PM
Sean Bean dies again!

2012-05-12 01:02:41 PM
Weird that The Secret Circle pulls in better ratings than Nikita and Nikita gets renews and TSC gets canceled. The wife and I like that shows, but I mostly like it because the chicks are hot.

delathi: Yeah, and with the season/series finale last night, it ends with 3 massive cliffhangers.

Any idea what's up with that? Was it the last episode ever?
This sucks.

2012-05-12 01:07:36 PM
I accidentally watched two of those shows once.

2012-05-12 01:08:58 PM
"The River" only had two good minutes the entire season - when one of the episodes started with the lead male playing an acoustic guitar and singing The Decemberists' "Sons and Daughters" backed up by the lead female and her accordion. Then it went right back to sucking.

"Breaking In" season 1 was hilarious, season 2 sucked balls. They made sure to fark that right up after renewing it.

"Alcatraz" was finally getting good in its last few episodes, alas. Too little too late, I suppose.

I think so.
They called it the season finale.

And since there is no 2nd season..
Maybe they will resolve it in a one off of Bones?

2012-05-12 01:10:50 PM

mase_face: Sean Bean dies again!

Heh, ya, thought of that too when I read the Missing was cancelled. He must be losing his head over the news.

2012-05-12 01:13:02 PM
I had heard of 4 of them and watched 1 episode of one of them, well of 2 of them if you count the hijacking of Bones they did to try and build an audience for the Finder. I kind of liked it but I don't watch much primetime TV lately. I don't mean that in a hipster "I don't own a TV" way - my TV is on pretty much all the time but usually as background noise. I catch up on shows later by DVD or Netflix when I feel like watching them.

I probably watch more crappy sitcoms on Nick at Nite than anything.

The cliffhangers are the really annoying part.

Since it's a spinoff, there's a chance that an episode of Bones could provide closure, but I wouldn't count on it. If Emily Deschanel hadn't gotten pregnant, I doubt The Finder would have even had more than a pilot.

2012-05-12 01:21:03 PM
Really sad to see The Finder get axed especially since it started to get really good and the final episode last night was a cliff hanger. I hope they get at least one more episode to sort things out.

/also likes Mercedes mashon she has an amazing body.

2012-05-12 01:23:04 PM
I'm upset that Harry's law got cut, it was pretty good. The rest of them I either never heard of or they didn't interest me enough to even give them a view.

Going to miss awake, Alcatraz, the secret circle, the finder, the river, breaking in (mostly the first season), will mildly be disapointed in losing a gifted man and missing. Of course I have low standards and watch way too much tv .

I've been watching a lot of AntennaTV lately. The Burns & Allen Show, Jack Benny. Great stuff.
