Heh someone at espn.com hates Nebraska. That makes at least two of us.

2003-11-04 11:52:53 PM
I would make three, Auckum.

2003-11-05 12:39:54 AM
Huskers....a ha ha ha ha hah ahahahahahah. i'd be number three.

well, at least the rockets or the bobcats aren't on there, though i see the bobcats are real close.

2003-11-05 12:41:22 AM
well, fourth then. but still, that's hilarious.

2003-11-05 02:31:56 AM
Why aren't Duke and Baylor on this list?

2003-11-05 02:52:58 AM
That's funny about Nebraska. Yeah, 7-2 makes you the 5th worst team. Hey, wait... can you be in the top 25 and also in the bottom 10?

2003-11-05 04:55:53 AM
God, everybody really does hate Duke, and for sound reasons.

2003-11-05 05:07:16 AM
WERE NUMBER 10 WERE NUMBER 10!
the new UofA cheer.

Go cats........ just not in football.

2003-11-05 05:15:25 AM
I knew Vanderbilt would be there somewhere, they are on the "Waiting List." Even the local media mocks them.

2003-11-05 05:15:59 AM
Shouldn't Army be #1 if they have to reach back to 44-45 for when they were good?

2003-11-05 05:18:54 AM
The Huskers need a new coach, they should fire that biatch ass coach they have. He sucks. What happened to the mighy Huskers?

go ahead and read the past 3 years of this column. #5 is reserved for a good team that farks up the week prior.

and you know what else is funny about nebraska? they lost to OLE MISS in the freakin INDEPENDANCE BOWL last year.

tom osborne is gone, and so are nebraskas chances of another MNC.

The 5th spot is a place of honor for a good team gone bad.

productiveslacker
Even the farkers who love Vandy mock them. We're pretty bad.

Of course SMU is last...they can't recruit players with promises of free cars and money any more.

And Nebraska...hohoho. It's mighty satisfying to see them cast down at last. They were "great", back when they loaded up with an entire schedule of third-rate teams. Joining the Big 12 was the worst decision they ever made. Actually having to play good teams every year exposed Nebraska for the cheap program it is. Texas, for one, seems to make a career out of trouncing Nebraska at will and ruining whatever championship ideas they had that year. Anyone remember the '98 game, with the play on 4th down?

2003-11-05 05:49:01 AM
Mississippi State is on the waiting list? Oh man we can do better than that. If we try real hard we just might lose to 'Bama by 24 Saturday. Move over SMU the Bulldogs are coming through!

2003-11-05 05:52:07 AM
Duke sucks.

heh, I don't even follow college football, is "Duke" a college?

Duke are not _that_ bad this year. They are 2-7, which wouldn't include them on the Bottom 10 by any means. They have trashed their I-AA sacrificial lamb (Western Carolina) and beat Rice who are 2-2 in their conference (but 2-6 overall.) They kept it close with NC State and should beat North Carolina who are absolutely terrible.

Baylor are 3-6 this year including a win over Colorado so they are not so bad either.

Virginia are 5-4 and that is a tremendous disappointment considering this was Schaub's senior year and the good players Groh recruited last year should be doing better. But the only game where they've really been stomped was South Carolina so I can take some solace in that.

I only wish the Maryland coach would compare them to Duke again.

I'd have to say Navy's turnaround this year has been the most impressive I've seen in a while. They can beat Notre Dame.

Wyoming (I've had a soft spot in my heart for the Pokes since they knocked off Gonzaga two years ago in the NCAA's) can make the Mountain West a lot of fun if they beat Utah.

2003-11-05 07:39:19 AM
if notre dame loses to navy i think i'll cry forever.

i'll be the first to admit that notre dame sucks hardcore this year, but i still love my team. ^_^

2003-11-05 07:49:55 AM
Notre Dame belongs on that list with the Cornholers. Fark them both.

2003-11-05 07:57:24 AM

No, but I remember the 4th down play in the '96 Big XII Championship game. What I do remember of the '98 game was that Texas was the first team to beat Nebraska at home in 4 years.

2003-11-05 07:59:15 AM
So... Northern Illinois... We've lost one game. To Bowling Green. They have to lose to toledo, and we have to win the rest of the reason(out of the three games left, two of the teams are on that bottom ten list) if we want to go to the MAC championship. Bowling Green just isn't gonna lose, they're a damn good team.

Touchdown Jesus has lost his powers.

2003-11-05 08:11:50 AM
Idaho, Duke and Vandy deserve to be on this list, instead of "waiting". They absolutely BLOW.

And Nebraska .... they don't deserve to be on that list. They are much better than last years team. Baylor should be on that list too. They beat a lame Colorado team and got BLOWN OUT the next week. Yeah, tough my ass.

2003-11-05 08:19:16 AM
Duke are not _that_ bad this year. They are 2-7

Need I say more.

2003-11-05 08:22:39 AM
Nebraska is on the list for an especially bad week, losing to an overrated Texas team.

It's similar to when Kansas State lost to Marshall.

I'm surprised Clemson didn't get on the list. Letting WAKE FOREST take a 45-0 lead on you is prime qualification for the bottom 10. Bowden is as good as gone.

2003-11-05 08:23:41 AM
All right! My Ohio Bobcats made it out of the bottom 10!

2003-11-05 08:25:56 AM
Everyone make sure to watch NBC saturday afternoon. The Notre Dame drunken Irish are going to lose to Navy for the 1st time in 40 years!!!

ND most deservedly belongs on this list right now. Not much of a Nebraska fan (after they got a share of the NC in '97 just as a sympathy vote cause Osborne was retiring) but they are a decent football team this year. Now if anybody in the top 25 deservews to be listed in the bottom 10, my vote would go to The Ohio State University. Bunch a farking felons out on work release every saturday if you ask me.

GO BLUE!!!

2003-11-05 08:27:07 AM
We're number 1!!! We're number 1!!!

I'm (SMU '95) longing for the good ol' days when the Mustang players wore fur coats to class... in Dallas... in August.

You do the math.

2003-11-05 08:30:08 AM
wayward2

Sure, they're 2-7, but they're better than they've been the past couple of years. There's plenty of teams who are worse off.

Sethor Remember, at Nebraska the N stands for knowledge.

Actually, the N stands for National Championship... 5 of em biatch.
What school did you go to?

Uh-huh. And how many of those national championship teams did YOU play on?

2003-11-05 09:06:52 AM
Go UB bulls! They WILL take back the #1 spot before this season is done.

2003-11-05 09:10:09 AM
I saw Penn State is on the waiting list. Wow are we bad.

A Penn State and Steelers fan. And just sick about it.
Is it the weekend again? Oh god, who's gets to beat us this week?

2003-11-05 09:14:10 AM
The Duke joke was freaking hilarious the first million times, but now it's starting to piss me off.

2003-11-05 09:19:17 AM
Uh-huh. And how many of those national championship teams did YOU play on?

None. Does that disqualify me from defending my alma mater against childish insults?
I understand it was a joke about Nebraska football -- my comment was a good comeback to that joke. When did they make the rule that you can't tout the athletic achievements of your school unless you were a member of the team?

Ah, at least IU is there, making me proud.

Er... wait.

2003-11-05 09:51:54 AM
Finally, my school made an ESPN rankings list!

Wait...it's the top 10 WORST teams?? Eh...close enough.

Go UB Bulls!!

2003-11-05 09:57:54 AM
As much as I love to see Nebraska fail, it's pretty much a given that my team (K-State) will lay an egg in Lincoln yet again.

2003-11-05 10:12:02 AM
wait...hold on a minute....should not u read the list backwards to determine the best of the worst?

2003-11-05 10:25:55 AM
Clownish Brown
Not so fast, my friend. Obviously Texas found some weaknesses in the Husker defense that I'm sure K-State can exploit (you have a good coaching staff). And judging from the performance of Texas and Missouri's mobile quarterbacks, I'd say Roberson has a chance to run wild on us (especially with Sproles back there, too).

I'm a Husker fan, but our team just doesn't have the consistency we used to have in the 90's. As long as our passing game is a joke, we will not win the big games.

2003-11-05 10:30:09 AM
I would have placed the Gators on that list if Ron Zook hadn't turned things around here recently. If he can knock off FSU, he will achieve Spurrier-esque status on campus...

2003-11-05 10:30:48 AM
So proud of the PIrates, I could just bust..... The one team we beat is higher up on the list, Army.

2003-11-05 10:31:42 AM
ProductiveSlacker and LetsGoVandy:

Vandy only fell off the list to the waiting slots because they had a bye-week - don't worry - we'll be back...

2003-11-05 10:34:56 AM
No Ivy teams? C'mon, we'd get shredded if we had to play against a real team!

2003-11-05 10:36:53 AM
Clemson definitely deserves to be on that list. I get to hear about how bad they suck on the radio all the time here in Charlotte...

2003-11-05 11:08:59 AM
Huck the Fuskers.

that is all.

Go Buffs.
