To those of you who let spiders go free...

You're doing it wrong. Kill them. Kill. Them. If possible, bring them back to life and kill them again. Yes, I understand that they are a part of nature and live and let live and blah blah blah, but fark that, kill them. You know what else is a part of nature? You. You killing a spider is not disturbing the natural order, it is the farking natural order. True fact, and I know this because I live in a beach town, the flip-flop evolved into what it is known as today because farking KILL THE GOD DAMN SPIDERS. They literally outnumber us hundreds of thousands to one. At no point in your life will you ever be more than a few feet from a spider. If those farkers ever discover radio communication or telepathy and are able to coordinate the attack, we are seriously farked. But they can be stopped. Would you like to know more? KILL. THEM. You could be taking out one of their top scientists with a single stomp. And yes, I understand that setting one free may seem like a good way of building good will within the spider community, but consider once again that they outnumber us hundreds of thousands to one, and while the one spider you set free may have a change of heart regarding humans, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS TO ONE. Or more. Or less. fark, I don't know, and it doesn't matter because farking KILL THEM AND MOUNT THEIR TINY STILL TWITCHING BODIES ON TOOTHPICKS AROUND YOUR HOUSE AS A WARNING TO OTHERS.

Spiders are cool in my house. If the kids find one and the wife isn't around, we watch until they get bored. If my wife is around we scoop it onto a card or magazine and then treat them like an non-paying tenant. EXCEPT IF I FIND THEM IN THE GOD DAMN SHOWER. THEN THEY COME APART. THE DEAL IS THAT YOU DON'T LIVE WHERE I GET NAKED. DO YOU HEAR ME, KING OF SPIDERS? GET THE WORD OUT.

Ivo Shandor: studebaker hoch: Even better when the SOB charges out and stops about two inches from your hand as if to say "get lost".

Best when you come back with your weed burner on the 20 lb bottle with the pilot going, and she's still right there standing her ground.

... She moves like a bird, lightly, bobbing her head. And you keep still because you think that maybe her visual acuity is based on movement - she'll lose you if you don't move. But no, not Black Widow. You stare at her, and she just stares right back. And that's when the attack comes. Not from the front, but from above, from the other two spiders you didn't even know were there. Because Black Widow's a pack hunter, you see, she uses coordinated attack patterns and she is out in force today.

Clever girl.

CSB time:

When I was a kid we lived in Oklahoma. One night, when I was around eleven or twelve, I told my parents I was staying over at a friend's and we stayed out all night exploring. At one point we were wandering through an abandoned orchard in the moonlight, being dive-bombed by bats, when we came upon a section of the orchard that was taken over by spiders. We could not go any further due to a literal wall of webs that stretched from the ground to the treetops. Within the webs we could see little movements in the blue light, and there were large dark spots, as if birds or squirrels had been caught and hung there waiting to be eaten. It felt like the web was going to reach out and pull me in. I wasn't scared of spiders before that night.
