Happy Endings - the show that revealed Elisha Cuthbert is legitimately hilarious.

I gave that show zero chance in the first episode. Now it's my favorite comedy on television. Yes that includes 30 Rock, Community, Modern Family.

DamnYankees: Happy Endings - the show that revealed Elisha Cuthbert is legitimately hilarious.

And introduced Eliza Coupe, who's equally awesome. I realize it's pretty much the same basic formula as Friends, How I Met Your Mother, and probably a dozen other shows mot worth remembering, but I don't care. Favorite show on television.

You know what? Friends was funny. How I Met Your Mother is funny. Aint nothing wrong with that.

"I'm Dave" is the funniest line of any sitcom I've seen this TV season.

I hear good things about this show. Guess I'll need to watch it at some point. Especially now that I know it's not going to get cancelled right away.

So, there are no happy endings then?

I might be crazy, but I actually think Dave is the funniest character on that show.

PENNY: So this is definitely a Navajo thing, and you feel good about that?

DAVE: It's a metaphor. Each fringe represents a tribe. Each bead a white man's broken promise. Plus it's reversible.

ALEX: And this is all helping you with a new sandwich?

DAVE: Yes! And it is great. Buffalo meat, green chiles and corn. Although I couldn't find the Navajo word for sandwich, so I'm calling it seit'aad. Which is an actual sand...witch.

PENNY: A real witch...who lives in the sand?

DAVE: "She who buries her victims in the many dunes."

I could buy 30 Community and Modern Family - but 30 Rock? The only reason that show lasted as long as it did is because of a Baldwin.

Never knew about the show and ended up watching it one night, mostly because I was too lazy to reach for the remote. I'm so glad I did, it's an awesome show and consistently funny.

taxandspend: biatch

The only reason that joke works, and isn't simply offensive, is the followup ten minutes later.

Plus I sometimes swear Damon Wayans is in that show and he is...well his son is.

/Plus Wayans is in this and the New Girl pilot, talk about a win win situation.

Happy Endings is one of those shows that on paper seems like it should be boring and derivative, but it just works and is consistently funny.

Smell that? Racism.

Also, the entire Penny dating Doug Hitler storyline is ah-MAH-zing.

They were really smart to do episodes back-to-back when they premiered the series. The first half-hour was meh. It had to be done, I guess. They had to set the story in motion with the jilting at the alter. But it was really smart to jump several episodes ahead for the second half-hour. It let us see the whole group dynamic, and - just like with Friends and How I Met Your Mother - the group is so much better than the nominal romantic leads.

/Seriously, I got sick of Friends pushing Ross and Rachel on us. I just stopped caring after their second nasty break-up.
//Same is true with Ted and Robin on How I Met Your Mother. The group is better.

She was on Scrubs as well, towards the end, as well as Scrubs Interns (or whatever that abortion of a show was) but she is no Elisha Cuthbert.

It's because most people have never heard of or at least never watched it. If it sticks around a few more seasons and becomes widely popular, Farkers will be lining up to tell us how much it sucks.

This show was clearly written by people who don't have or ever had actual friends.
That said, I'll still watch it because of Elisha.

Smoking angry is more like it.

She has those permanently arched eyebrows. Makes her look constantly pissed off. When she looks anywhere she glares at it.

One of my favorite scenes was in the Code war episode where Max gives Dave a perm and Dave shows up at the bar where eveyone else is. When Brad and Jane see him they pull back, aghast, and Jane exclaims "Tempe Grandin!" while Brad chimes in almost simultaneously with "It's Pat!" . The delivery is great.

This. This right here is aMAHzing news. First watched it for Casey Wilson (who, screw you FARK cool kids brigade - killed on SNL), and stayed for everyone else, who is just as hilarious.

Best traditional sitcom on TV right now.

Plus, it's nice to see a gay guy on TV that doesn't fit the usual stereotypes (*coughModernFamilycough*)
