I have got to try those. I certainly don't have the artistic talent of the cake pop baker, but I did enjoy making this last December:

One of the earliest scenes in that show with Lord Stark is him beheading some guy for desertion.

What comes around goes around. (And a good enough reason to get your own headsman instead of doing it yourself)

Dude. The book came out 15 years ago, and the episode in which the event in question took place aired almost a year ago. If you want to avoid spoilers, either read up or catch up.

We can't cater to everyone who feels like taking their damn time with the thing. I read the scene when I was a sophomore in high school. I'm 29. This isn't exactly breaking news.

Whoopdeefarkingdoo for you. Some of us have lives. Keep your fancy book-learnin' to yourself. I'm sure you're reveling in your little soapbox moment there, but I'll take joy in knowing that it was the high-point of your day, if not week. Maybe even month. Because like I said, some of us have lives. I would elaborate, but I need to get to the gym in a few minutes less than half an hour.

Actually, that would be "a few minutes fewer than half an hour"

one thing I learned about GoT is that you shouldn't get attached to a main character, you never know when their head may go flying off.

/watching the series, haven't read the books.

Net stark gets decapitated? Spoiler alert Subby....

// yes I already knew.

2012-05-11 08:55:30 PM
My understanding of the entire series is bad things happen to all the characters, especially those trying to be decent people.
So I assume the series will end by a giant asteroid knocking the planet out of orbit and slamming into the sun.

Igor Jakovsky: one thing I learned about GoT is that you shouldn't get attached to a main character, you never know when their head may go flying off.

LOL, no kidding ... when Tywin burned Arya at the end of Clash I literally threw up I was so upset. I had NO idea it was coming ... within 3 paragraphs my world just shattered.

/all was forgiven when he revealed it was Arya's phantom channeled into the white dragon that killed Cersei/Jaime mid-coitus in Dance.
//George Martin is one sneaky bastard
///at least Tyrion died fighting the "Slashies"

We are well past the statute of limitations on the entire series excluding Dance.

yes, before id seen it, id read a throwaway comment somewhere which was a slight spoiler, and i'll repeat now, everybody dies. it didnt really diminish anything too much, that fact becomes apparent rather early on

Until you get to the later books, and then it's all about lamprey pies & where whores go & occasionally where Hodors go.

/I like the Jaime story, though. It's like he singlehandedly saved some of the boring ass books for me.

So why did the link go to io9 rather than to the original page detailing how they were made?

The link little more than a picture -- and a small article that equates to "Heres what you were actually looking for"

io9 -- you suck so hard...

that being said cream cheese icing and chocolate cake is hard to screw up no matter how you decorate it...

Unless GRRM likes the character. Then they'll *almost* die like 8 times.

Arya and Tyrion are probably immortal.

Since I didn't read any of the Game of Thrones books before watching the show, everything was a surprise to me. ... And so, my Ned Stark cake pops were born. They're not that different from regular cake pops, except I used a bamboo skewer that extends all of the way through the cake ball...and they're kind of grotesque, funny, and awesome at the same time.

How are people invested enough to make a dessert and post online but not read the books? I admit I leaped to the books late, but I was halfway through the first before I heard about the television series, and I am now waiting patiently for Winds of Winter to be released. This is fantasy, the realm of nerds, do not venture in half-hearted. Plan to see The Hobbit films? Read the damn novel.

This is not about whether one is better than the other but simply why would you not seek out the books if inclined to watch? Cannot fathom this.

I'd rather learn how to make Finn Cakes.

and Dany. More her, as he once made clear. I like she is somehow more annoying on screen. And as boring. All these books for her backstory? I hope he is trolling.

Wise_Guy: Just an idea, but maybe you should avoid threads that have as a topic something you don't want to know about.

I'd be fine with avoiding threads like that but people seem to think it's cool to put spoilers in headlines.

Should I add Fark to the list of websites that I avoid so certain things I might watch might be spoiled?

You obviously think so.

Maybe I should just stop using the internet altogether and instead watch TV all day long so I make sure nothing ever gets spoiled.

I'm not that upset by this. I was waiting for GOT to come out on disc or NetFlix because it's not that great of a show. It's good, but I don't centralize my life around it and it's not worth paying for cable anymore for me but this certainly does diminish my desire to watch it when it does become available to people who do not subscribe to HBO through their cable company (and who have enough morals not to pirate movies/TV/music)

It is too bad - he was one of my favorite characters on the show, but it's good to know that they can kill off a major character - I've seen too many shows where major characters seem to be in situations where they cannot possibly avoid death but you know they will because they're a major character and they can't kill them off.

So bravo - his head comes off at some point this season. Glad to hear you're so smug about the fact that you probably saw the episode before it became common knowledge.

IMO, it doesn't really matter how long books or movies or TV shows have been out - not everyone watches everything all the farking time.

BTW, Jesse Pinkman dies in the 2nd episode of the upcoming season of Breaking Bad and Skyler kills Water White in the finale.

Maybe that would matter to me if I watched Breaking Bad.

Either way, you're being an asshole for spoiling something that hasn't happened yet, which is different from mentioning something that happened last year. Maybe you can understand out the difference. Probably not.
