morgen_benner: Uisce Beatha: AbbeySomeone: Ted Nugent.

Me too. And up until that point, I thought the portrayal of women throwing bras (and panties) on stage was fictional.

catusr: Ted Nugent ... in early 1969.

But it was very many years after you, you win.

You probably both beat me...I didn't see Nugent until 1999 at the Rock Never Stops tour in Noblesville, IN. Nugent, Quiet Riot, Night Ranger, Slaughter...

Saw Nugent on the Free for All tour. Great show. Too bad his childishness and insecurity forced him to fire the band that wrote half the songs on the album - and Meatloaf's vocals were terrific. Ted should have hired him as full time vocalist.

Oak: REO Speedwagon. I think it was the summer of '79. Something called The Rockets opened; I remember them as shockingly awful.

I saw REO in late 79 or early 80 in Texas. Opening act was AC/DC - I'd never heard of them before, but they stole the show.

Skipdallas: Emerson, Lake, and Palmer And I was tripping out of my head! Wild night, I actually thought that the inside of Memorial Stadium had turned into the Devil!

ELP Works Vol 1 Tour set the record for loudest concerts up to that time. (The Stones broke the records pretty quickly). I weezled my way to the front row - probably a mistake in hindsight....

After I got in the USAF, the next concert I went to was Day On The Green '91. Soundgarden, Faith No More, Queensrych, & Metallica.

"Weird Al" Yankovic. 1994. I was 10.
He was the headline act, I'm not sure if there was an opening act. It was pretty good. but of course I was 10 so I was pretty much his target audience/market.

but to all the haters, my first REAL concert was Elton John, "Medusa" tour. 2000. My dad took me, was my birthday present. A couple of numbers in he asked me "when does the rest of the band come out?" I don't think either of us realized that it was just a 'solo' Elton john tour. He now denies ever taking me to / attending that concert. lol.

/got into Elton through my parents record/cd collection. They had "Goodbye Yellow brick Road" and "Friends soundtrack" on vinyl, and "Too Low for Zero" on cd.
