Nice article subby. There wasn't a lot of OMGTHERESBOOBIESONTHEINTERNET and more "Hey, kids like to look at naked pictures"

I expect my kid will want to look at porn, and that doesn't bother me. But there's a lot of sick, twisted shiat out there. Just look at my cache. And setting up a filter isn't going to stop them from seeing it. They'll just go to a friend's house and look at it, or a buddy will get it off 4chan and forward it to them or whatever.

My plan is to say "Hey, kid...you want to get laid, right? So don't try anything that's going to piss your partner off. Use some goddamn common sense."

Well that's just stupid. Don't you know you'll make Baby Jesus cry? And he loves you so much that he'll have no choice but to make you burn in hell for eternity. In his mercy.

The one thing I plan to do that might keep my future kids from watching internet porn...letting them know their mother and I like to watch it together...

It gives us ideas.

Jeanne Sager set up a separate computer login for her 6-year-old daughter, Jillian, to protect her from objectionable material after Jillian stumbled upon a graphic video while watching "My Little Pony" videos.

Do these people not understand Rule 34?

When I have kids, my master plan is generally not to worry about it. Although I would make sure they understand computer usage very well before letting them loose. I don't want them getting my system infected, after all.

In any case, I have no plan to indoctrinate any silly "morality" BS into them.

Nevermind Rule 34. Its foolish to think you can "protect" them from everything. You can't and you shouldn't. Sexuality is out there. More importantly, graphic violence is out there. Don't try to protect them at all. Instead, PREPARE them for it. Its called PARENTING, people.

You cannot shield your children from reality forever. Then when they grow up, and reality hits them all at once while they are completely unprepared... well that was a foolish strategy, wasn't it?

Well far too many people disagree with me. Is it any wonder there are so many poorly adjusted adults out there?

Mom, if you were ever in a German Scheiße video, you would tell me, right?

When I was a kid, getting porn was a challenge. We had to obtain physical reproductions of photographs and videos. Videos could be copied but the quality dropped fast with each generation and you had to have pre-macrovision VCRs which didn't help with the quality. And VCRs were expensive. I didn't get one of my own until I was 17. We had one of those giant C-band satellite dishes in the yard so I could get the American Exxxtasy Channel but I had to build my own descrambler to see it and remember to move the dish to a different satellite and unhook the descrambler when I was done.

We had to work for our porn. Where's the pride of accomplishment when all you have to do is google "sick twisted fetish" and click "video"? There's 10 right there. I dare you to think of something that doesn't pop right up. (After turning off safe search.)

Not forgetting to tell the little nuggets that ATM is generally not acceptable on the first date, despite what you see on the internet.

Nothing could be as awkward as helping my dad GIS for Scottish geography, with safe search on, and having Furry porn pop up. I didn't even try to explain that. Just "Yep... internet" and click Back.

But, yes, porn is way, WAY easier to get now, and it's way easier to get weird niche stuff that in the old days fetishists would have had to write away for. It does make the "when two people love each other and are committed" talk more complicated after the kid has discovered images of someone getting fisted to the elbow by a woman dressed in a rubber maid's outfit.

Human sexuality isn't dirty, and it's important to explain the basics to kids fairly early, BEFORE things like that have a chance to happen. One, it gets a head start on any other influences, like porn and misinformation they might get from other kids. Two, it gets a jump on explaining a lot of other things they will want to know, like why cats have kittens and why their aunt has a wife instead of a husband.

I'm living in Japan and I see it all the time (Maladjusted people, not porn. Well, that too, but....). Kids are definitely aware of porn because it's everywhere, but they typically don't have access to it. And since shame is the prominent form of discipline, they don't really try to look at it. I live in a college town and I can see the effects. Kids come out if high school and hit the real world and they're just not prepared. These innocent young people who've been sheltered by their parents for so long meet people like me who've been looking at porn since they were basically kids, and they don't know what to do in bed with us. Its a tragedy, really.

2 things kids; It's addicting, and it's dangerous - to click random porn links without getting a virus.

Just so you know, everybody with kids is pointing at you and laughing.

Your perspective changes when they're your kids.

A batter question is why isn't our children out playing instead of turning into a fat puddle by sitting in front of a monitor?

These days, kids don't have to teach pops how to use uudecode, string together multiple parts from Usenet....

"What are you trying to get from the news groups, dad?"
"Something I need for work."
"Uh-huh."

//Sorta miss Usenet, but not as much as I miss my dad. :-/

Its not about imposing "morality" on your kids, it's about them not growing up thinking the kind of shiat you see in the average porn is how sex is supposed to be. Contrary to what the porn industry would have us believe, most women don't like it when a guy blows his load all over their face, yet I haven't seen a porn in years where the money shot didn't end up there.

Most women don't like anal sex, nor do they routinely perform ATM. Group sex isn't something the average person does on a regular basis. Smacking a girl on the ass, choking her, pulling her hair and calling her a whore are all common things seen in porn these days that most women wouldn't appreciate a guy doing during sex.

Whether you want to believe it or not, seeing these kinds of things leaves a lasting impression on young minds, its not as simple as telling them those kinds of things aren't normal. Once something is seen it cant be unseen.
