On the neutering question - sometimes a cat is "cryptorchid". When my boy got his nut lopped, they had to go on a search n destroy mission for the other one. Three incisions in his belly and a lampshade later, I had the unprecedented pleasure of watching him walk backwards through the entire house for 45 minutes. Cost a farking arm and leg, though.

Ah, Tut misses Kood, too.

We played an irritating game of 'hide and go fall asleep' the other day, in which I wondered how I'd lost the cat in my new (small!) flat.

Turns out, he's figured out how to open the upper kitchen cabinets.

tigerose: I do not know how active I will be this week. RL just kicked me upside the head. My Mom has stage 1 bladder cancer, non-invasive. And they can't do the treatment right away because the bacterium they use is backordered. WTF!

So she is being upbeat, and I am crying.

Crap. Huge Virtual Hugs and wishes for strength to you both: it's tough going through and almost as tough to watch someone you love go through it.

Finn is now 11 weeks old. He discovered the head of the giant stuffed gorilla is a great place to lay and watch the All Bird Channel.....I guess this is sort of a derpy face, although it was supposed to be a glamour shot.....don't worry, I have more....hahahahahahaa

Sickapie: Ok. Um. I has a very dumb question. And my face is crimson for even typing this, but...

When a male cat is neutered, does he keep his harbals? Reason I ask is that my cat, Simon, was neutered (at least I hope he was or I was charged for nothing!) and he has his, but some pics I see here and elsewhere of kittehs that have been neutered don't have theirs. I haz teh derp wif these things.

I should note that Simon was the kitteh my husband found at work and they all chipped in to have him taken to the vet for shots, neutered, etc.

There. I asked.

/runs out of room giggling and embarrassed.

They take out the balls, but sometimes it takes a while for the sack to look empty. Unless they put in Neuticles® without telling you?

siyuntz ;I lost a cat this week. Tuesday, to be exact. She was old, and had cancer, and was so sick at the end. Putting her down was definitely a mercy. Sill, it hurts.

I understand how you feel, I had to do the same for my girl exactly a week before you did. It does suck, but you did the best thing for her, which makes you the best type of slave, oops sorry, fur parent. She'll always be with you, and will be waiting for you at the bridge.

I know it scary, but try to keep positive. My uncle was diagnosed with bladder cancer (not sure what stage) and apart from the occasional visit to the hospital to pinch out a regrowth now and then, he's absolutely fine. He's just started his own business, and to look at him, you wouldn't know there were any issues with his health. BTW, it's been at least 5 years since he was diagnosed, and hasn't deteriorated at all. Will keep my fingers crossed for your mum.

Early is soo relative...stupid meds I'm on are keeping me up, so I caught myself up on all the British television I missed since 2010. Yes, I am a nerd....

And, a heartfelt apology for the power outages and being sick. I know a lot of you guys get on every weekend, and I want to, but the last few months have been ridiculously bad-- and I never want to inflict my bad mood on anyone online. Things just aren't going well (well, they got better with Caturday, trust me) and I'm sort of going through a mid-mid life crisis with just about everything. I don't want to fill this up with 'chatter', but I have to say something about this...it's tough doing what I'm doing without so much as one relative around to help, and it's just made me think a lot about...stuff. And things. I haven't painted at all since Dad died, and I'm really not sure what's going to happen tomorrow, let alone next week or next year. Just wanted to let you guys know that I don't think I'd still be around talking if it weren't for having the online community (even if my landlady is the root of all evil and my power keeps surging lately to the point that only certain days are safe for me to try to get on).

Anyhow, a picture:

My kitteh Cali. I had to let her go a little over a month ago. She was 14 and the Doc said she probably had a tumor. I bawled like a baby when I had to take her in. She was the first pet I ever had to do that with. She had been here and there and everywhere with me for the past 12 years. Ive been meaning to post her in a Caturday thread as a little memorial.

RIP Cali

Glad to see so many on the MIA list posting again...Welcome home!

Wolf did not let me sleep much last night. Him and Biscuit were talking all night through the makeshift door most of the night. Then at the asscrack of dawn he decides he's sleepy and starts hogging the couch. I think he's ready to be released into the wild.

Happy Caturday Everbudy!!

Catching up since I'm so far behind (as usual lately)...

Yobbery - Glad to hear that Wolf is doing so well! Coop sends some purrs since he knows all too well how Wolf is feeling.

tigerose - sorry to hear about your mom. How scary, but it looks like they caught it plenty early. As far as the meds being on backorder, I have a friend with stage 4 brain cancer and he had to wait about a month to start his chemo therapy because the chemo meds were on backorder. Kind of crazy, really. Thoughts and prayers to you and your mom. Have I mentioned that cancer sucks!

siyuntz, Her Indoors, and Igor Jakovsky - so sorry for your losses. :(

My Mandu had that. The cord was actually wrapped around his bladder and could have caused serious damage or death if he wasn't neutered.

QJ: you are on quite a roll which is causing me to get funny looks. I am still without a computer and using one at the public library and really need to keep the giggles from getting too loud.

Welcome back to everyone who has been away for a while (SG, BG, HH, MK - hopefully i am not missing anyone). You were definitely missed! Welcome, also, to the mewbies who have joined us recently!

Spinach Gunk - I totally understand what you're saying. I have been having a hard time just keeping up with reading all the posts, never mind trying to actually post something. It seems that I can't finish reading one Caturday when the next one is already green. Besides the everyday RL stuff that pulls us away at times, work is crazy. We are moving to a new building in 2 1/2 months and there is so much IT work to be done beforehand, We are also taking on additional service on the contract I am on in a few weeks so we are trying to prep for that. I have mandatory training that I need to get done for work, etc, etc. It seems overwhelming at times. I'll really be ready for a vacation by the end of August!

Now, to keep up with the goggie pics...
