I only knew of Tom Kenny, June Foray and John DiMaggio. Didn't recognize the others. That guy doing Marvin the Martian isn't old enough to have done the Marvin voice I remember.

How does one know John DiMaggio and not Billy West?

2012-05-10 09:13:20 PM
I love the fact they got David Kaye, but where the hell is Scott McNeil?

/They were my two favorite VAs from Beast Wars.
//Also, woulda been great if they had gotten Frank Welker and Peter Cullen in as well.
///And Tabitha St. Germain as well.

Most of them have a face for radio.

Video was nice but utterly fails without Steve Blum

Thanks for that, subby.

Watched it already. Boring. Too much blah, not enough character voice.

Needs more Pamela Adlon.

If you've ever played Sims 1 or 2, you know Gerri Lawlor and Stephen Kearin.

Billy West is an awesome voice actor, but his real voice sounds just like Fry.

I have a videogame voiceover credit. And more than 13 developer credits. One of our sound engineers once asked me to be the SWAT teddy bear. I did one hour of work, and holy hell, it's more effort than I put in in a week as a console game programmer. LOTS OF WATER.

Not that you could tell from the lame ass link but it's a trailer for a documentary, due out next year according to IMDB, but the link unfortunately is also lacking in details but lists a lot more names.

I love June Foray. What's more, I used to know Wilma Flintstone, who was Rosie the Robot Jetson as well.

I need to get into this. I do a very good Vincent Price,

That was my dream job for a long time. Got a few credits too; nothing big...then life got in the way. Wish I'd stayed with it now.

This seems more of a promo for something bigger... does anybody have a link to a full documentary of this?

I recognized quite a few of the names there, but the one that stood out was Andrea Romano. I've seen her name attached to so many shows with amazing voice work since I was a kid, it's nice to put a face to the name.

Fantastic, more light shined on VO.
So for the next while, there'll be more and more idiots polluting things as they try to mimic it.

My fiance insists that I should quit lawyering and be a voice actor, that I do great voices and impressions. I just don't hear it. Without actually recording yourself, can you really hear when you're doing an impression well?

why not record yourself? it'll get her to stop nagging

I would watch (listen to?) an extended interview of most of them individually. I am not a fan of a 5-minute mash-up of all of them at once.

I'd like to see more of that. I do some voices on radio and would love to do some animated stuff.

I can to an extent. Although I can also play by ear (learn to play things just by hearing them), and like they said in the video, the two are related.

That being said, recording it and playing back gives the more proper impression of what you're doing.

You're a lawyer, do not drop that to enter the entertainment industry. You're going from a sure thing to a 1% chance.

It's funny how they mention voice actors never got credit until Mel Blanc came along when in fact Mel Blanc made sure that HE was the only voice actor to get credit in those cartoons. He kept people like June Foray and Arthur Q Bryan (Elmer Fudd) in the shadows while he took all the glory.

Tara Strong makes my pants fit funny.

June Foray 50 years ago too

I do amateur voiceacting for a podcast, and it has really given me mad respect for the people who do VO for a living. It's hard work.

/still can't do decent fighting sounds

And Rob Paulsen and Maurice LaMarche (seriously, how could you forget LaMarche?)

Also, I've had a crush on Tara Strong since Rikku

While June Foray may still be working, her Rocky sounds too jowl-y. That ship has sailed baby.

I wonder if Andrea Romano has won any awards for her work.

I can do a dead on Kif from Futurama (Maurice LaMarche), and Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget (Frank Welker), but anything I come up with on my own sucks balls.
