Squirrels are a bigger threat to American infrastructure than Al Quada.

This is not the first occasion when a Fairfield County squirrel has caused major electricity disruption.

I'll have you know that I have seen squirrel terrorist camps where squirrels teach other squirrels the vulnerable points if US infrastructure. Islamist suicide bombers have nothing on planned squirrelcides.

Yes, Metro-North really does suck that hard. Last summer, a bunch of cars lost A/C and power on a 100 degree day.

When I was a kid, a snake got in a neighbor's distribution panel and started a fire that burned down their house so I'm really getting a kick out of this thread. Not really. They were under-insured and couldn't afford to rebuild. They lived on the property in a 5th wheel trailer for a few years then, one day, the trailer was gone. Never did hear whether they were able to sell the property. If they did, the new owner's left it undeveloped. Only things left are a few fences and a couple small outbuildings. Been like that for over 20 years.

Well, yeah, there's millions more of them, and they're already here!

Try NJ Transit, where that's a daily occurrence....

/Along with being 45 minutes late.
//MN is probably the best of the three NYC area commuter railroads, and arguably the best in the US...

As someone with lifelong experience with LIRR and a lot of recent experience with NJT, I find LIRR to be the better of the two. No idea about Metro-North though. I think I've been on it exactly once.

Yeah those squillies are some real bastids.

They are nowhere tame.

Not even in the Highly Scenic Frozen Hellhole Full of Really Interesting People.

Squirrels once blew every light bulb, AC adapter and computer power supply in my house by gnawing through the aluminum cable that ran from the power pole to my home. I still love those little f*ckers though.

Did the squirrel make it? Are they sending away for any special tiny instruments??

So that was yesterday.

What about Sunday?

My wife and I spent over two and a half hours trying to get to Grand Central from Fairfield. They told us that all trains were stopped, in and out of the terminal, and our express was converted into an all-stopping cattle train, which edged Westwards, one station at a time.

WTF MTA?
