The definition of "absent" being "except for #8 on the list".

/Do people actually RTFA they submit anymore?

You've been here long enough to know the answer to that one.

I have, as evidenced by my obvious crankiness about kids today.

I guess Helena Bonham Carter.

/Haven't RTFA yet.

Danny Elfman.

Has it been pointed out yet that, despite subby's claim that Johnny Depp is absent from the article, his name is in fact mentioned in the article?

ecmoRandomNumbers: Danny Elfman.

Don't forget checkered floorboards. And things with big vertical stripes.

It's a classic troll. Point out that the article is missing the obvious so you'll click to see what they put on the list instead. Except that the article is full of the obvious.

I'm kind of surprised the article didn't mention black-and-white stripes. They seem to make the scene quite a bit in Burton movies.

2012-05-10 05:04:59 PM
Cleavage. There's always 2-3 prime cleavage shots.

FTFA: We all know that Tim Burton loves pancake white makeup, black eyes, spirals and stripes - but those are not the only things he loves to feature over and over again!

I think it's pretty much covered.

/Danny Elfman, oompah oompah ooompah pahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I've noticed that there is a glass window in almost every one of his movies.

How did suck and fail not make the list?

2012-05-10 05:18:51 PM
I absolutely love it when the rest of the Internet catches up with what I was biatching about over a decade ago.

I like Burton, but he really does only have ONE movie that he just keep remaking over and over and over. Just as Elfman has one score that he keep re-arranging over and over and over.

I'll still see Dark Shadows, though, because it's just silly fun.

Apparently, my "s" key is stuck, because I said "keep" instead of "keeps" twice.

Oh well. This is Fark, not my publisher.

2012-05-10 05:23:13 PM
And if it's a remake of another movie or TV show it will be a rancid bucket of shiat.

My utter infatuation with Christina Ricci as Katrina Van Tassel sparked my interest in early American history.

Fun Fact: Large Marge is always floating somewhere in the background of each of his movies

Bonus fun fact: One of the "Top Men" involved in handling the Ark from Raiders is a beat cop in Gotham.

Awful farking director. His cutsey goth schtick is unbearable. Beyond Ed Wood and Beetlejuice (and perhaps the first Batman) his films are all unwatchable.

I still like Nightmare before Christmas, but yeah, it's gotten to the point where his schtick is old.
