It speaks volumes to a shows credentials when Robocop, Doc Brown, and Mr. Spock all have nice things to say about their guest appearances.

I loved Bell's re-appearance.

It makes perfect sense that he would return. He might have 'retired' from acting, but any retired actor would go back for a day or two of filming with a good enough show, and a good enough part.

Subby, are you honestly suggesting that Leonard Nimoy is hard for cash?

... Hard UP for cash. I'm not suggesting Mr. Nimoy has a fetish for rolling around in 20-dollar bills or anything...

He voiced the bad guy in Transformers 3 and used the line "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few".

He's related to Michael Bay (by marriage, I think). Family obligations, are a biatch.

Nimoy has more money than he needs. You can't really retire from something that you love.

If he was really hard up for money, he would finally accept that invitaion for Big Bang Theory.

I am not even a Star Trek fan, and only a mediocre Fringe fan (I watch it but I couldn't tell you what it's about), but I got a thrill when I looked up and thought, "OMG! It's Leonard Nimoy!" Strangely enough, this happened right when I was posting a picture of Nimoy for some thread. WHAT COULD IT MEAN?

pacochu: If he was really hard up for money, he would finally accept that invitaion for Big Bang Theory.

I'm pretty sure he's been on there as a voice, although his character was a Star Trek doll. But don't quote me on that, because I definitely try not to pay attention to TBBT. Or is that a joke of some kind? I just saw this episode with the Spock doll recently.

When Walter started talking about knowing the work he was looking at, I knew Bell was coming back, and as a bad guy. Very glad to see Nimoy show up.

Fringe has been better of late, and now that they have a definitive endpoint, think the episodes will just get better still.

I once read a book by Shatner where he says something like "I went to see Leonard Nimoy in his building. When we weren't looking he bought up half the real estate in LA."

I seriously doubt Mr. Nimoy needed the dough re mi.

Astrix- "Alex?"
Walter- "I was on a roll"

I love this show so much. She better not die after royally kicking ass

Astrid lives on in the future so theoretically she'll be alright.

It's surprising this was the lowest rated episode. Hopefully, based on word of mouth, there will be a strong showing for tomorrow's episode.

Surprising to hear that about the ratings, but I definitely do not care about how many people tune in now after the final season renewal announcement. I hate encouraging my friends to watch a show they were never into with a complicated plot arc near the end of a season.

It doesn't matter now. NOW = 100 episodes. Why? Syndication. 100 episodes are the old school rules Hollywood made about selling a "full" series. In the old days, that meant you could distribute a series to somewhere/sometime it hadn't been seen before, but you needed a long enough run to justify having local stations run it. These days, it's all bullshiat.

Their whole model is bullshiat, and it's collapsing.

I didn't know that! I saw him in the first 4 seconds of the show and was wondering why he took such a tiny part.

This seems an appropriate place for a Fringe Discussion.

Did anyone else notice that the X on the nanites in the last episode, which was a distinct marker of Bell's work, was the same as the X on the shirt of the man in Olivia's vision? The guy that would kill her?

"I'll never forgive Bell for what he did to Olivia," said Dr. Bishop in the future ep. I can't help but think that's connected together. Bell and... wait. It was an LSD trip. Why does X Man have to be a physical human?

X Man could be corte -'X'- iphan, and this may all come from something Belly primed Olivia for.

Eww I like that. It makes sense with all of her powers starting to come alive this season, especially towards the end.

I can't speak for the others who didn't watch last weeks episode but we've been sitting on it on the DVR until we can watch both episodes together.

So is this the original William Bell that died in the original timeline, but isn't dead in this new timeline or is this an Alternate Universe William Bell, which I don't believe we ever saw. Was there ever an Alternate universe William Bell?

Jeremysbrain: So is this the original William Bell that died in the original timeline, but isn't dead in this new timeline or is this an Alternate Universe William Bell, which I don't believe we ever saw. Was there ever an Alternate universe William Bell?

Almost certainly the former. In the original timeline, Alt-Bell died in a car crash before ever meeting Walternate. That suggests the car crash was before Peter was kidnapped. Therefore, the rebooted timeline should not have affected Alt-Belt at all, and he should still be long dead.

On the other hand, part of why Bell died in the original timeline was because of Walter successfully bringing Peter over. So in the rebooted timeline, it's perfectly reasonable that he would've survived.
