A recent USA Today analysis found that West Virginia gets 28 percent of its income from government programs, more than any other state. Also, its population is second oldest in the nation, behind Florida.

All they want is for government to get out of their medicare and social security.

I'd really like to see an article where a reporter approached people who voted for Keith Judd, told of how he's a federal inmate, what he was convicted of, etc. and then asked them why they voted for him.

Edsel: I don't even know how anybody could possibly deny that racism is a factor in WV. 20% of their voters admitted in 2008 that they didn't vote for Obama because of his race.

Because conservatives think that facts can be unfair. I really can't think of any other way to explain it. West Virginia is loaded with racists. Like you said, a significant portion even admit as much. They're also way down the list on education, the state is poor, it takes a ton of federal money.....

But all of these things, though objective facts, are just not fair. It's not fair to point out racism even though one in five voters admitted race was a factor in their vote. It's not fair to call them ignorant even though they're one of the worst performers in education. Even though it's all fact, it's still somehow unfair to say it, so somebody like BillCo comes in and throws a hissy fit over it.

Conservatives just don't get it. You don't want to be called racist and sexist? Don't be racist and sexist. You don't like it when you get mocked because so many conservatives states take so much in the form of government handouts? Stop sucking at the government teat while biatching about "wealth redistribution".

If you don't want to be mocked, stop doing and saying obviously silly things deserving of mockery....

This says more about WV than just being racists. There is a level of cutting off the nose to spite the face that worries me. They'd flush it all away to avoid four more years of a man who honestly hasn't been the greatest president but far from the worst. These deranged fears that the President's next term will be the cracking of the seals and the apocalypse begun are scary to me. He isn't going to turn us into a communist state, he isn't taking everyone's guns, he isn't a secret muslim, he isn't going to be dictator for life. He'll have four more years of policies fought at every turn before he goes. After he's gone there will be careers made for decades sold on the platform of 'fixing that sekrit muslin, radical christian, dumb as a post, smart as a fox's' mistakes. If they are smart they can lay the ground work now to begin retaking things and pulling their party back from the jaws of insanity to be poised to take the presidency in 2016. But four years under a ni*blah is too long, they'll just flush the country instead. Short-sighted farkheads.

Many of my democrat-for-generations WV relatives are convinced that it is the intention of the Obama administration to destroy the independant coal operator under the guise of green energy so that coporate coal can buy those formerly profitable businesses for pennies on the dollar.
