The coming of gay people can't be stopped or prevented. It can only be delayed.

Wait, what are we talking about? Civil rights for gay people? That too.

My wife. Except for white chocolate. Except for when I buy white chocolate for her, then she would have preferred milk chocolate. Except when I buy milk chocolate, she only likes white chocolate.

I wish I was kidding.

So I eat it. And I love chocolate. So it's kind of a win win?

It's not just Colorado. It's the entire country. The newest generation of voters everywhere sees gay people as human beings deserving of dignity. They will slowly replace the oldest generation of voters who see gay people as the other. The tide is coming in.

This is why there is such a push to pass so many laws infringing on the rights of the people. The people are becoming more aware, more involved, and the old guard is terrified of this - R and D alike.

Difference seems to be, R is clinging to the past to maintain power, relying on an aging and dying demographic, while D is sort of ambivalent, trying to gain the new vote while not losing the old. And BOT parties are trying to restrict the populace's attempts to enact change within the system by more or less changing the rules to make it legal to rig the system.

This generation of politicians (45 or older) were adolecences during Ronald Regans years. They have been entrenched with the propaganda that the conservative way is the only way. Obama was raised during that time period, which is why he's part conservative.

Liberal doesn't mean what it used to. I'd generally be fine with a moderate Democratic party--IF the GOP didn't respond with win-at-all-costs douchebag intransigence.

Part of the problem is that many Republicans view of the left was formed in the 60's and 70's by the counter culture and anti-war movement. The right is going to have the same problem in the future trying to live down the tea party and other radical craziness.

It might not be popular to say but eugenics could have solved a lot of problems and greatly improved our species. And that guy had to put the kibosh on the whole thing. Communism? That was a bullshiat boogey man, always was.

Eugenics was largely a Progressive movement - championed by people of "science".

And Progressives in the early 20th century were extremely socially conservative, just like the rest of the country. Pro Tip: 21st century political definitions often do not match definitions that are a century old.

And they're very pro-Communism. How else can they support big businesses that profit off of Communist tyranny in places like China and Vietnam? Or is profit more important than freedom?

Someone has been listening to Glen Beck I see. I guess Winston Churchill was a flaming liberal, and those anti-miscegenation laws in the South were because of all the Southern Progressives.

Eugenics wasn't a left/right thing in it's day, although the right did cling to the idea for longer. They still do to some extent.

Republicans, the day will come when you will have answer for your backwards, racist, homophobic, and anti-women views. And the day will come sooner than you think. And when it does the only place you will win elections is in some backwater Southern town.

When your views are so abhorrent to yourself and others you have to lie about even having them you have really rather lost the point of politics.

The word "conservative" at its very definition means "keep things the way they are now". This by definition is a losing proposition. Then you have people like Santorum (I realize he's irrelevant at this point, he's just an example) who wants to get gays out of the military and overturn Roe v Wade and all that other gay stuff that he stood for. Those are called reactionaries and are even more doomed than the conservatives.

Reactionaries did rule at one point. Historians call that the Dark Ages. They didn't go over too well.
