(Bloomberg)   Disney is wasting no time cashing in on the Avengers thrill ride. Actually, it's not a ride. It's more like over priced hats and tee shirts, but you get the idea   (bloomberg.com) divider line 10

Speaking of thrill rides, how about a roller coaster based on the Chitauri leviathans?

Pfffft. I'm just going to ISOHunt, searching for "Avengers T-Shirt" and hitting Download. Only chumps pay for that crap.

Disney puts out t-shirts and rides from every film they make and this is a surprise how?

/wouldn't surprise me if there was a warehouse full of John Carter sunglasses somewhere

So here's what's weird to me, though I'm sure Disney's lawyers have thought about it: Universal Studios owns the rights to most if not all Marvel characters for the purposes of rides (see Islands of Adventure). The success of the movie can't hurt that park, but Disney can't develop a competing product for the Avengers.

Is Disney just eating that, or what?

You know, I have a buddy that does t-shirt printing from image printouts. Just sayin'.

/some kind of machine that scans/maps the colors based on scale of tshirt size.

Not sure how it works out. A couple of months ago, Disney revealed plans to start incorporating Marvel properties in their own parks, though.

And in four years, they'll "reboot" the franchise.
