Last five games:

Mario Chalmers makes at least one 3-pointer: 3-0
Mario Chalmers chooses not to make a 3-pointer: 0-2

You have a good point, subby.

/hopefully Chalmers decides to make one so we can get closer to the real playoffs

It happens frequently. Hell, it happened toward the end of one of the games he "quit on" against the Celtics.

It's SUPER MARIO CHALMERS to lead the Heat out of the wilderness.

Right before Wade clanks a very Kobe-esque shot to finish the half.

Yup, it's Emperor Guillotine. I knew it as "Voyage into Space" which was a movie cut together from several TV episodes. I never knew it was a TV show, but when I googled Johnny Sokko, I found them on Hulu. Checked 'em out and relieved a little bit of my youth. Good times! :-)

No way! I used to watch that on TV when I was a kid (probably the same movie) and have fond memories of that cheesy movie. Good pull.

This seems like a pretty uninspired first round. Pretty much exemplified by Rondo's play last night. Great situation, great steal, then it just fizzled out as he dribbled it around to run out the clock.

I thought I'd enjoy watching Melo chuck the series away then claim his teammates quit on him but I'm just not getting any satisfaction from it knowing that it just advances the Heat.

Hopefully flop city and the Griz will give us something.

You know it seems like Lebron is kinda half-assing it this series, He has been scoring it fine, but his hustle plays are down and his passes have been sloppy and he has been forcing a lot of shiat. On the defensive end he seems to be going 3/4 speed. Yet he is still dominating the Knicks. Poor New York fans. You guys really don't have a lot to look forward too next year with this team.

Exactly, I remember thinking when Lebron and Melo went 1-2 in the draft that maybe Melo was the better pick because he had college team experience and that Lebron might be a bust. Watching him now, all I think is how good he could be if he cared more.

Yeah Melo is by far the best scorer in the league, not even Durant can score in the ways he can. farking blows my mind how little effort he gives 1/2 of the season. I thought maybe getting out of Denver and having a change of scenery would help him, but fark me that dude just needs to retire if he can't find his love for the game.

I'm interested to see who they get as a coach. Will they go with a yes man who will run Melo iso plays 90% of the time or will they get a coach that wants to run an effective offense.

No they haven't. Supposedly they're starting to negotiate but nothing's done yet. But I like him and they should keep him based on thickness of facial hair alone. Unless Phil Jackson's available.

You are right the article I read has been updated with a denial from Woodson. I just can't see why Phil would come back for New York. Unless he really does have an uncontrollable compulsion to coach basketball. Other then Woodson, Shaw would be a good fit. But New York thinks that they should get the biggest name coach available regardless of the current roster. So who knows what dumbass choice they will end up making?

I agree. It doesn't seem he like he has the competitive fire of the Kobe's and Jordan's of the world but I don't think many people do. That is what separate the goods from the greats. The issue with Meli is that he isn't has good has people think he should be.

Great points, especially on the lack of effort, but who really does have that kind of drive? The 2 guys you mentioned do and the other guys that are top 20 all time players. He obviously doesn't get that connection.

I was a big melo fan until the "my teammates quit" comments while he was putting up his 6 boards a game and playing no defense and just generally halfassing it like he did tonight.

Watch where the coach puts him on defense when the games on the line and they need a stop. Is it on the other teams best player or on the fifth guy that just runs to the corner to get out of the way. That will tell you all you need to know about Melo.

True that. I liked Griffin a lot because he seemed to be the antiCP. He'd plow through the lane, shove people out of his way while dunking on everyone and then stare down the opposing coach and bench. That to me is awesome. This you came close to me so i fell crap needs to stay in Argentina.

Now That's What I Call a Taco!: Holy shiat. Just take Gay out. He's done.

This!
Take out Gay, put in Speights and tell them not to take a shot more than 15 feet away from the bucket unless your last name is Mayo.

Choke factor is at the highest level with the Griz right now. I don't think Hollins can get them out of playing one on one ball for the rest of this game.

We really know how to choke in Memphis. First the 2008 finals for the University of Memphis and now the 2012 playoffs for the Memphis Grizzlies. I hate watching Memphis sports teams some times.

Chunks McGunks: Kenny B: Good for Memphis. Winning the battle of the Underdogs.

Memphis is the higher seed
/The more you know

True, but I think it was a reference to the fact that they are both perennial losers (well, Memphis has been steadily improving lately, but still).

Dear Memphis fans,

That "Beat LA" chant doesn't apply to the Clippers.

Mitch Taylor's Bro: elguerodiablo: Man I haven't thought of Joe Barely Cares in years, thanks for the chuckle. Product of Denver's own East High school! Didn't go there myself but I lived a couple blocks from there for years.

I recently read an epic Grantland article on all of the Warriors epic fails since they won their championship. It reminded me about JBC. Check it out if you want to understand the depth and breadth of their sadness.

That was a really good article. The Warriors draft incompetence is truely amazing. The guys they've left on the board over the years is gobsmacking: Larry Bird, Clyde Drexler, Kobe Bryant and on and on.

I hated Josh McDaniels for his incredibly shiatty 2009 draft I couldn't imagine the depth of my rage if my favorite team had 20+ years of that. I have a new respect for warriors fans. If there are any that haven't committed suicide by now.

I live in Warriors country and a bunch of my friends are fans. In fact, one of them sent me that article after I said Warriors fans have no class for booing the owner they way they did at Chris Mullin's jersey retirement game. After reading it, I told him I now understood why they acted so crassly and apologized for doubting him.

As a Lakers fan who only has a passing interest in the Warriors (I actually like the team), their FAIL is just a footnote on every season to me. But for a fan, it's a never-ending Peanuts cartoon where they're Charlie Brown and fate is Lucy pulling the football away, then laughing at them as they fall flat on their backs. And every June, during the draft, they get back up and swear this time, Lucy will not pull the football away at the last second.

I honestly shake my head at why someone would support such incompetence, but they wear it like a badge of honor. It's like it somehow makes them BETTER fans because they can root for a team that has completely and utterly failed for so long. But what do I know? I've been an Angels fan since the late 70's LOL
