Drew is not your kindly uncle. He's a businessman. Fark is a media outlet, like any other media outlet. When hits start to fall off, Drew trolls for hits the same way that Skinnyhead trolls doe responses. If you don't like it, stop posting in obvious Troll threads. Otherwise, just admit that we all kind of like spewing our outrage, and that what Drew does works and generates traffic.

The real reason Fox is somehow "America's Poison" is because of its willingness to go around the liberal censorship wish list and define what is "fit to print" in a different way it knowingly publishes lies and false equivalencies in a vapid, transparent push to generate wedge issues for right-wing teabots.

My family on my mom's side has always been super tight knit and close. Everyone has always loved each other and gotten along famously. My mom's 3 brothers all live in or around Pennsylvania whereas my mom & dad live in Vermont. Everyone was registered republicans.

Then Fox News happened.

It started off at family gatherings where alcohol was involved like weddings. My first experience with it was my great aunt coming up to me and asking me how i liked living in "Kerry Country" (this was 2004) and got all snotty to me. I hadn't spoken to this woman in 15 years and she was already preemptively attacking me for my perceived beliefs because i lived in Massachusetts. I politely changed the subject but was kind of shaken.

A few years later at my brother's wedding, my uncle who's an evangelical minister corners me and starts going on about how the muslim religion is inherently evil because they're so violent. I started to point out that most religious violence in this country is perpetrated by christians but that was dismissed as a "lie by the lamestream media". This was my favorite uncle growing up and he was just seeing me as another Massachusetts liberal that he could attack and not a farking close family member.

We'd just sort of shrug it off and suggest that they watch something besides Fox since that's all that's ever on at their places, but it's kind of jarring when it gets between family members.

Yesterday, my dad had both his knees replaced so my minister uncle calls my mom to check in and see how things were going and the subject gets on to insurance (I guess insurance is only paying 50% of the 2nd knee or some weird shiat like that) and my uncle says out of nowhere "well under Obamacare there'll be no knees at all".

My mom just sort of got off the phone and wrote to me how sad it made her that her brothers have become so rigidly partisan and how it's all because of the shiat they see on Fox.

Fox has literally and actually splintered my family.

Actually,what you state in your post sounds more like the entertaiment rhetoric that Rush employs rather than Fox news.

But then again, most liberals I've come across lump them all toghethor.

What I've noticed lately is when trying to debate issues with my liberal friends, they seem to fall back on some really immature rants (quite like many of what I've seen in this thread) or straight out name calling or mocking. (Ie Fox is studid retards).

I am begining to think it comes from Comedey Central. Lately most young kids and liberlas seem to be getting thier news and politcal talking points from John Stewart and the Colbert report.
