Given that he inherited this, I don't see it happening.

He's fixed a lot so far. How are Republicans doing with all that job-creating legislation they were saying they're going to create?

Any day now?

How about now?

Okay... So, I should wait?

Now?

inelegy: I'm convinced that's all the proof we need that women shouldn't vote or drive.

Many women should do both but I'm one of those that can only do one of those things effectively. I totaled out four cars by my 20th birthday. I'm in my 40's now and refuse to drive. I suck at it and I know I do. Hurting myself or my car (or both) is one thing, but if I killed someone else with my ADHD inspired "Ooooh! I didn't know there was a Gol......Oh! That's a cool motorc....OMGs! Who does this song?!?" BS would be so not cool. I'll stick to public transport, bumming rides or those two strange attachments on the bottoms of my legs called "feet". The world is a safer place that way.

To be fair, they did say their first priority was making Obama a one-term president.

That alone made me hate them.

Nothing like having NO budget for 3 1/2 years, that way you can spend 5 trillion dollars with no accountability

It's gotta be winterwhile.

I have yet to meet a Walker supporter with any decent reasons for their support. I think that people hate being wrong so much that they'll support him again, even though they know he farked the state up, just so they don't have to admit they were wrong in the first place. Idiots, all of them.

I hope she had some studded snow tires or chains on the car if so...

Goodbuddy ww tends to find a talking point he likes and then spend every post for the next 2 weeks pounding it into the ground. The one that attained official Fark memehood was "3 million jobs lost under Obama", to which he would append "best part................ forever".

God bless him, he keeps trying, even though he knows he's a laughingstock....

Gunther: Walker is spectacularly awful even by GOP standards, and Wisconsin doesn't strike me as the sort of place that's filled with partisan morons who'd vote for him regardless just because of the "R" after his name.

Any Wisconsinites want to explain what the mood of the electorate is there? Are people just pissed that it's a recall election?

Walker's center of support are the three suburban counties surrounding Milwaukee. These people don't care about the rest of the state, just as long as they get their own way.

To get some idea of what the Milwaukee 'burbs are like, just bring up the bigottry that was in Alabama in 1963 (they are the most segregated in the nation) and the idea that all the folks up there are "job creators." You now have a level of bigotry and narcissm that's just mindblowing.

The folks in the Milwaukee burbs didn't like what they saw when much of the rest of the state told Walker to get bent, so they threw a fit. It's going to be epic seeing what they'll do if their boy gets recalled

My question is if Walker did get recalled- who do you run next time who isn't hamstrung by a connection to Walker or the collective bargaining mess? That means the Fitzgerald's are out and any of the Senate or Assembly Republicans from the Milwaukee area are dinged. Which leaves you Mark Neumann or crazy north woods yokel to be named later.

gretzkyscores: The only thing more ridiculous than the naive belief that voting will somehow change anything is the belief that there are meaningful and significant differences between Republicans and Democrats.

Good luck with that. I'm sure that just after the next election, everything will be just fine and the country will change for the better.

BolloxReader: Chimperror2:

Felons have broken the social contract. Unless they've had their rights restored by a court, they are no longer trusted with certain elements of society. That includes military service, voting, right to bear arms, right to hold political office, etc. They can be punished and pay back the debt but that doesn't mean their trust is restored and fundamentally the social contract is a trust relationship.

People do the same thing in private life. If you trust someone and they break that trust by stealing, they can repay you for the loss but their trust isn't automatically restored.

Sorry, but if a debt to society is paid it is paid in full. All this "they are forever marked" bs does is make them more likely to commit crimes in the future. Opportunities are lost forever as are Constitutional rights. If I were denied Constitutional rights forever then why would I ever want to obey the laws of society? At that point I would not even consider myself an American because I am not afforded the rights of an American.

In fact that would pretty much "radicalize" me against the government. It wouldn't even be my government anymore.

If you commit more crimes, you go to prison again. In simpler terms, you are presumed trustworthy until proven untrustworthy. Once untrustworthy, you will have to work to restore yourself. That is more than just paying it back. If you work a cash register and steal from it, they fire you. They don't give you your job back if you repay the money even if they decide not prosecute you criminally. You may never be trusted to work the register again. This loss of trust that causes the removal of civil rights (i.e. by committing certain felonies) is civil, not criminal, and extends much longer than criminal penalties of prison and restitution. If you think your civil rights are worth a lot, then don't commit felonies. If you want to earn them back, don't commit morefelonies. If a civil penalty causes you to commit violence, then I can't help you, that's either an anger management issue or an immoral choice (i.e. See MLK and Gandhi for ways to deal with civil injustice). If you don't understand the difference between forgiveness and trust, I can't help you there either. Sex offender lists are another example. You can forgive a pedophile and free them. But are you going to let them teach elementary school once they are out? That's a civil penalty for being a convicted pedophile and it can last for life. It is independent of the criminal penalty and independent of whether the victims have forgiven them. They simply will not be trusted with children again.

There is a significant difference between Scott Walker and Democrats though. 99.99999% of Democrats haven't been thrown out of college for cheating...
