jpo2269: Bully, Subby? Really? So the new rule is when a group you don't agree with tries to organize a boycott, they are now guilty of bullying? I would say unbelievable, but somehow I am not surprised. Keep misusing this term and soon it will have no meaning and will not elicit the appropriate response when a real case of bullying does arise.

Delta is still an airline? Oh, right. You book with them when you want to crash into a river.

No thanks. I'd rather live.

Given your statement, shouldn't the example you cite have a plane actually land in a river, or maybe have someone die?

Don't respond to trolls, just let them live in their mom's basement posting crap on the web they heard Rush say. Not like trolls can get on planes anyhow.

I'm not Catholic, or even religious, but I know enough to know that the Catholic League doesn't really speak for Catholics any more than the Westboro Baptist Church speaks for Baptists.

So how do I show my outrage now?

Keebler and Mother's cookies are made by the Kellog company too.

Incorrect. The Catholic Church has certainly evolved throughout the years. They used to stand for things like marching armies of children to the holy land, serial torture in the prosecution of heresy, and supporting the mass-extermination of the Jews. Nowadays, they're mostly an underground railroad for pedophiles.

We are also calling for a national boycott of all Kellogg's cereals

The folks at Kellogg's must be worried shiatless right about now. Their little family owned cereal company is only barely able to make ends meet as it is. This will crush them.

Bigotry is bigotry. The term can't be selectively applied...at least by anyone that is at least partially intellectually honest.

John Stewart is a proven bigot.

Funny how the same people who think the tactic is fine against Rush Limbaugh disparage it against Stewart.

puffy999: FROGSTOMPER: They have a lot more than Colmes, in fact Colmes is probably the worst spokesman for the left they have.

Thanks for reinforcing my point about fallacies also.

What, like 1/10th the airtime on one segment out of eight seen in a full one-hour show means that Fox is fair and balanced?

I wouldn't describe Fox or any other news channel as fair and balanced, my main reason for posting has to do with John Stewarts joke and his condescending attitude toward an oblivious audience. When I've seen them cover the issue in question (and other issues) and have two to four guest giving their opinion about it, the guest usually get equal time and they have different opinions, some far left, and the host gives his opinion, which is why Stewarts joke falls flat. If there are two guest each will get about a third of the time, if there is one guest they may get more time than the host. If you have a one hour show with eight segments, obviously the other seven segments can't be added to the equation, they will be about different subjects and a lot of times not about politics at all.

Your question is based on misconception and again reinforces my point.

Make sure that baby Jesus has such a big halo that Mary would be crying out for a C-section and epidural.

Personally, I'm just tired of Jon resorting to dildos and crotch-shots for cheap laughs. It has nothing to do with religion, and everything to do with not finding it very funny. After the ten thousandth time that he showed a five-minute close up of Anthony Weiner's penis, I kind of found myself wishing he'd find another dead horse to kick. No matter how funny a joke is, it's substantially LESS funny the five hundredth time you hear it.

Most Catholics I know don't even realize they're supposed to believe in transubstantiation. And most of them don't know what the immaculate conception refers to either.

As I said, torture, still going on in "Christian" countries, if you count psychological torture and, if we didn't have at least a few voices of reason, some of the would-be theocrats you hear ranting and raving our sinful ways in this country would not have us very far from those nations "enslaved by Islam".

Anti-Christ?

That describes the majority of the most vocal self-proclaimed "Christians" today.

vonster: I don't have time to watch nonsensical, lefty "comedy" shows so I haven't seen it. What was the point they were trying to express?

Probably trolling, but I'll answer anyway. Fox News ran a segment saying that there was no "War on Women" - it was just hyperbole by the left, cheapened the sacrifice of the soldiers, isn't an accurate description of what's going on, all the anti-women bills are just isolated incidents, yadda yadda yadda. So Stewart responded by showing clips of all the "War on X" stuff Fox has done in recent years that are far less substantial and even stupider (like the "War on Poinsettias" after one school district banned them) and culminating with the now-annual "War on Christmas" Fox likes to trot out. The last punchline of the segment was him saying that if women wanted Fox to recognize that there was an actual "War on Women" maybe they should all have vagina mangers - with a picture of a naked woman (waist down, looked like a hospital shot) with a manger strategically placed between her legs.

This, naturally, was what got the Catholic League's panties in a twist - not that Stewart was calling out Fox on their stupidity, but that he dared show a picture of a manger between a naked woman's legs.

Yea,if it wasnt for that pesky constitution thing. Please enlighten me on the "christian" countries you speak of. The US is not one of them(according to Jefferson and Obama) but you know that already so what ones are? "psychological torture" is such a matter of personal opinion. IE Sponge bob to me would be defined as such.
