Wow. This must be the tolerance of the left of which I have heard so much. I'm no friend of the RCC, but this thread has gone full - bore jackass.

Go ahead, flame away. I'm a tough man when I'm behind seven proxies.

Loucifer: Is hyperbole a sin?

I think so, if it strays into "bearing false witness" territory.
Not to mention the underlying idolatry.
And you non-Catholics? a ten-ton carving of the Commandments IS an idol.
Sorry, no heaven for you, either.

Maybe in response the fans of The Daily Show should set up a boycott of The Catholic League.

Vaginas aren't really Kellogg's thing. Just don't promote the "spilling of the vital male essence" or disparage the value of frequent colonic flushing. That's sacrosanct.

An erection, sir, is a flagpole on your grave.

Go cry, emo kid, liberals were never tolerant of stupidity. It's not our fault conservatives made it a guiding principle, so no, we won't kiss your ass for trying to kick ours.

"In other words, Kellogg's is telling Christians to shove it," Donohue said in a statement.

Maybe they were telling you to shove it, kid toucher.

We are also calling for a national boycott of all Kellogg's cereals.

Boycotts don't work anymore, everyone knows it.

In a message to Viacom, Donohue wrote: "What Stewart did wasn't a joke. It was hate speech ... All we want is an apology.

Wait as long as all the kids that got caught in the Catholic rape factory had to to get an apology. See you in a century.

Animatronik: Was this "vagina manger" thing supposed to be funny? Maybe I need to watch the whole thung.

Jon Stewart grows less funny every day, and more and more just another voice of shrill irrationality from the far left.

How's that for hate speech?

The "Daily Show" segment featured Stewart mocking the Fox News Channel for not covering a so-called Republican "war on women."

I think he should apologize to his audience for that. Fox News does cover it and they have plenty of left leaning guests come in and give their views about it, they talk about it every day. They certainly talk about it more than the "war on Christmas", It may not seem that way to John because he is blinded by his liberalism. He's probably mad because they have both sides of the issue represented, if it's an opinion show the host likely goes for the side on the right, but the audience gets both sides and forms their own opinion. And on several of their opinion shows the host will often take the left side on some subjects, Geraldo for example.

It seems like almost every joke he tells is constructed it the same way, they come up with a funny punchline and then completely disregard the facts because they think it's funny and they know their audience doesn't know the difference or even care.

And it is funny until you start actually paying attention to the news, then the fact that there's a big lie in the middle takes the funny away. The same is true for Bill Maher and Carlin and Rock, any time a comedian starts talking about politics the pander to their audience, which is fine, but when they do it to the point of lying to their audience and holding them in ignorance then they should be ashamed.

Then the rest of the media refers to these comedians as "genius".

But I guess that's the way of the leaders of the left, when you watch their news channels and when they are on Fox News or Cspan, they know their followers respond to every fallacy thrown at them and then the followers come to the Fark politics tab and spew fallacy all over the thread. That's why terms like "hate" or "uneducated" comes off their fingers so often when they type a response to someone who disagrees with their opinion.

One side has a big, screaming, interruption-prone white man who has a one-liner on every subject that pisses off racist honkeys in their late 30s or above, and that is about as full of truthiness as George W Bush telling you he'd never inhaled cocaine.

The other side has Colmes.

Fair fight, particularly with a captive, biased audience.

Disposable Rob: FTA: In a statement, the Catholic civil rights group called the segment "the most vulgar expression of hate speech ever aired on television."

This statement implies that a) Catholics are somehow being oppressed enough to need a civil rights group and b) the Catholic League is more than one person.

The world's a big place. Muslims oppress Catholics in large swaths of Africa, for instance. Sudan/South Sudan have been fighting a series of wars over this since 1955.

They're doing the same thing "we" did, however backwards and idiotic their stances are.

There is a slight difference here.

Limbaugh was attacking a private individual by lieing about her. Stewart made a joke involving "vagina mangers" on Comedy Central. He did not attack any private individuals. You may find the joke in poor taste, that is your perogrative, but it is a different story than the Fluke crap that Limbaugh spewed.

Prospero424: Hell the Catholic League has become barely more than another propaganda arm of the Republican Party these days. Almost all of their public actions are coordinated with Fox News, Drudge, right-wing talk radio, etc. They don't even bother to try hiding it.

This whole "vagina manger" controversy they've done their pathetic best to drum up is nothing more than an explicit retaliation for the campaign against Rush Limbaugh's sponsors a short while ago. It's payback for Rush.

That's just so Christian of them, isn't it?

Bully, Subby? Really? So the new rule is when a group you don't agree with tries to organize a boycott, they are now guilty of bullying? I would say unbelievable, but somehow I am not surprised. Keep misusing this term and soon it will have no meaning and will not elicit the appropriate response when a real case of bullying does arise.

Go ahead, all you apologists, try and defend this sad and sorry record ... in the name of your jesus:

Five Philly priests barred for abuse, or, inappropriate conduct; Spain, maybe elsewhere, stolen babies; The Americas, maybe elsewhere, residential schools; Holland, maybe elsewhere, castrations; Ireland, maybe elsewhere, Magdalene laundries; the saga at the Mt. Cashel orphanage; every form of sexual abuse, just about everywhere; not to mention, the reports of murder, mayhem, money laundering, and mafia ties, constantly swirling around the Vatican. JP Morgan closes Vatican bank account -- on speculation that the account was being used for *less-than-immaculate financial deeds*. I mean, god, will it ever end?

Lest we forget ...
When an offender is found in a public school:
- the school gets the police involved
- the school cooperates completely with police
- the teacher is immediately suspended and is allowed no further contact with students
- if convicted, the offender is fired, and, blacklisted from teaching

When an offender is found in the catholic church:
- the victims are threatened with excommunication if they contact police
- the church refuses to involve, or, cooperate with police
- the offender is hidden by the church
- the offender is relocated to a new area with fresh, unsuspecting victims available
- the pope refuses to accept the resignation of people who try to resign because they feel guilty for their involvement in his cover-up
/many thanks to whichever Farker first totted these offender lists
