Andy Pettite is in the National Leauge now?

I was at the ES Yankees minor league game Sunday. He doesn't look ready. He gave up 5 runs (3 earned) in 5 innings. Yes, the defense was shaky but he was hit hard too. He looked good at times too, but the poor pitches seemed to outnumber the good. He wouldn't be being called up in the Yankees staff wasn't so thin.

Nah, it might be AARP ball for Petit, but the Mariners' lineup qualifies as a rehab start. AAAA is probably too good for them, really. I think some Special Olympics contestants could make them look bad.

This smells of desperation. The yankees are trying to patch together the bullpen and pitching since Mariano tore up his knee.

I hate to ruin a good talking point, but have you checked the standings lately? Hey, Ichiro has twice as many homers as Pujols.

Yeah, the Yankees will just slot Pettitte into Mariano's spot in the rotation.

WTF are you talking about?

Michael Pineda being hurt* has a lot more to do with this than Mariano Rivera's injury does

*not to mention the overall crappiness of Phil Hughes

Not to mention, when Andy Pettitte decides to come back from retirement, you don't say no. Especially if you've got a shaky lineup.

...this has been schedule to happen since the last week of Spring Training, when the Yankees were schedule to have AWESOME pitching.

Pettitte was coming back -anyway-, but he was probably going to be the #5. No one was expecting to not have Pineda at all, or for Hughes to suck.

/I expected Garcia to suck

Maybe Hughes has shaken off the sucksies, by his last start...? *fingers crossed*

Oh wait, subby is one of those retro-ball fans.
