I'm impressed by the amount of effort it had to take to find the exact screenshot to quote this.

Millennium: Walker: IS HE TIME TRAVELER????

redhook: zedcaster: Hoax. There's no Matt listed as a research assistant in the Lincoln Library staff directory in Springfield Il.

There is one.

McCormick, Matthew Administrative Services Stationary Engineer n/a

Yes, there is one Matt at the Lincoln Library/Museum but as Wikipedia says "A stationary engineer, also called operating engineer or power engineer, is a tradesman who operates heavy machinery and equipment that provide heat, light, climate control and power." Doesn't sound like the guy who would be handling archival material.

The P.T. Barnum stuff at the beginning is the author's way of screaming "I'm making this shiat up. If you actually believe it, you're an idiot!"
