How about the parts of the republican leadership who eventually apologized for disagreeing with Rush?

Whats your point? They apologize for insulting him and that's your point. You won't here libs apologizing to other libs because they don't attack each other.

Alright whose alt is this?

it is my, Phillip Francis Queeg's, alt.

Considering 95% of us are your alts, it's not surprising. Hell, you use me to put me off your scent by sowing chaos and confusion. Wouldn't it had been better to have named me loki or eros?

Haven't read the thread but a Google search finds no reference to Obama referring to Maher as a million dollar man. It seems to be some connection the teabagees are trying to force. But can anyone give me a link to where Obama and Maher met or that Obama even mentions Maher in any kind of way?

Cause I can't, no matter how hard I try.

To be a comedian, shouldn't one be, i don't know, maybe funny some of the time? Bill Maher isn't funny, he's just a dedicated and consistant dick.

Sadly, my initial reason for posting was to call out the author of the article for bringing Sandra Fluke into the discussion and doing so in such an unflattering matter. Sadly, after reading the Weenerss on this thread, I see it is ok to make unflattering comments about peole as long as I disagree with their views.

Well, he should give that back because, fark you! How dare he accept money from people with hateful words. That's why every rightwinger has always mailed back any donations from Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity. This isn't verbatim, but

sorry, we really appreciate your donation of one million dollars, but we can't in good conscience accept money from someone who drags our opponents name through the mud, no matter how good natured their intentions were. Thanks, but no.

jpo, cross for one. Cross for one for jpo.

Actually, public figures of any stripe are fair game to make fun of.

I don't remember people getting the vapors 13 years ago, when Maher relentlessly dogged Monica Lewinsky. Or the countless Clinton jokes that made it onto every late night comedy show.

If you have some fame and trot yourself out as an activist, you should be prepared to become the butt of a few jokes. Doesn't matter if you're Bono, Sean Penn, or Bristol Palin. Either it's all okay, or none of it is okay.

It was a serious question. Then you told me what it was in reference to, about Maher donating Obama a million dollars. And then I wrote a lame but satirical letter about the Repubs never ever ever accepting donations from people with dubious backgrounds, according to the left, and then added that I couldn't find that link either. Point being that it's only okay to do it when you're a Republican. Are they going to crosscheck with us to make sure the person that is donating to them a fine upstanding person in the lefts eyes? No? Then fark them...

Public figures sure, children of public figures not so much. If you have to attack your political opponet's children, then it is high time you hang it up cause you are holding on too tightly and have lost sight of what is truly important in life.

Besides, who better to advocate for teen abstinence than someone who got pregnant as a teen because she, like most of her peer never thought it could happen to her?

Who better to talk about the dangers of drug use than a former drug user?

My point is this, being an activist does not open the door for you to be subject to personal attacks, especially if you are teenager. However, being an activist regardless of age does open your beliefs to challenges from those who hold differing views. There is a big difference.

And Bill Maher *is* funny, sometimes. This joke wasn't, it was "right-wing humor" where you insult someone and pretend it's funny, but he does have moments where his jokes are actual jokes instead of shiat.

Had he ripped off farkers from that other thread and made a joke about her calling her next kid "Smith&Wesson" or "Kalashnikov" or "AR-15" or "Powder, but not because he's white." It would have been funny because it would have been in a pattern and making fun of wasillabillies and their naming conventions. Instead if was the mostly non-sequitur of, "derp, she'll be drinking" which doesn't tie into the gun theme hardly at all and has nothing to do with either of the couples or their actions or their habits or even their kids.

But I suppose that's the problem, Maher is funny sometimes but not enough to stay in business without shilling, badly, with political dumbassery.

Actually it tied into the absurd name theme, the gun theme, and her claim that she only got knocked up because she was drunk. That's why it's funnier than "Smith & Wesson"

Not to mention the old claim with Colt .45, "It works every time."

When you start trotting yourself out into the spotlight, be it movies, sitcoms, or reality TV, you cease being just the "child of a public figure," You become a public figure yourself. That's why no one says Sean Penn's critics are just picking on a famous director's son. She's an adult, she put herself in the spotlight, she shouldn't be shocked if she's not adored by everyone.

As for your "who better to advocate for teen abstinence than a teen mom. Drug users talk about the dangers of drugs," there is a fundamental difference. Drug users usually STOP doing drugs before they start preaching to others about their dangers. They end the behavior they are railing against. That's why Nikki Sixx may talk about the dangers of drugs, but Keith Richards doesn't. If you don't practice what you preach, it makes you a hypocrite.

The pregnancy and then shacking up with her dance partner means Bristol Palin may preach abstinence, but she's never really had a handle on practicing it.

Slow? Projecting much?

Bristol Palin is being mocked for a poor decsion she made when she was 17, now unlike you, most 17 year olds are prone to making poor decisions. Fast forward to today, given her financial position, she is in a place to afford to care for any child that may result from her current behavior. If you cannot understand that, maybe you should just keep to yourself

First off, learn what projection means.

Second, she's in that financial position BECAUSE of that poor decision. Do you think anyone would have given 2 shiats about her had she not gotten knocked up? No. And they certainly wouldn't have fallen over themselves to pay her a speaking fee and give her a book deal for being an "activist."

Don't you see? She tells kids not to do something that she herself is profiting from. That's like a drug dealer spearheading a "Just Say No" campaign.

You can't profit from something and then complain when someone points out that your message is full of shiat.

Lockers, so what do you think she is doing. She is the living example of why teenage pregnancy is wrong.

What she is, is a single mother trying to provide for her child and trying to tell others not to make the same mistakes she has make.

Now be honest, why do you hate her. Its because of the political views of her mother. Truth be told, she acts more like a democrat or a Kardashian.

Yes.

I remember this private, non-attention-whore being on Dancing with the Obscure Issues Advocates.

That was the name of that show, wasn't it?

Sounds like Bill Maher is getting his ghey on again for Levi Johnston.

There is no need to trash Bristol Palin in this election year....unless you are doing her ex. And you know Maher wants to hit that...Levi

I hear Barry White playing in the background of your post.

Buffalo77: Lockers, so what do you think she is doing. She is the living example of why teenage pregnancy is wrong.

What she is, is a single mother trying to provide for her child and trying to tell others not to make the same mistakes she has make.

What she is, is a woman of no apparent talent who has set herself up to be a spokesperson for avoiding teenage pregnancy through her mothers connections and only because of her mothers fame/notoriety but unfortunately she, and those "teen mom" girls who "star" on that reality show end up sending out the exact opposite message.

The fact that her mother belongs to a party that gave us education free sex ed aka abstinence only programs also makes her a horrible spokesperson.

If at some point she's willing to come out as a liberal who's for sex education, easier access to BC and a woman's rights to have autonomy over her own body then maybe I'll start to take her the tiniest bit seriously.

Dude, could you maybe go project your own homo-erotic fantasies about Levi's johnson somewhere else?

Write a letter to Penthouse Forum or something.

Sandra Fluke gets her widdle feelings hurt and the president puts her on speed dial. Bristol Palin weathers repeated attacks from an Obama donor? Crickets.

I didn't realize Bristol Palin was testifying before congress on a key aspect of an Obama policy.

jpo2269: given her financial position,

...which is based entirely on her publicity. See that part you're missing?

She was 17 and NOT a public figure when this shiat started.

jpo2269:

So you see no value in someon who make a mistake trying to help others avaoid doing the same? Good to know life is perfect in your little world.
