omeganuepsilon: ElStreak: I guess for me, when I'm looking at a pair and I think "I bet those things hardly even move" it blows the mood for me. I know at least two women who obviously have implants but still have a pretty natural shape and retain some wobble and sway, and I find theirs appealing.

That's akin to what I was saying. To me it's not a "mood", as far as threads like this go. It's a study of the shape, colors, and lighting/shadows. An artistic perspective, not quite erotic, but beautiful. An awesome sunrise, or epic astronomy pics, I see the same way, even if they're fabricated.(well, if they're done with quality, lots of shabby "artists" out there.

I do see what you mean. What you saw in the pics I linked, I see in this one(from someone else just a few posts up, the yellow halter).

That skin, while not showing marks, has the shine of something stretched taught, and they are obviously gravity/force defying, they certainly look a lot more solid than most in the thread.

The one's I posted aren't quite so obvious, or rather, they seem more surreal than "fake", despite their immensity. I hope that makes sense.

What makes the difference is the composition of the photo and any possible aftereffects.

Anyhow, I almost prefer some fake to some natural. A bit of defying gravity is a good thing, while complete surrender can make a photo unappealing. Nothing wrong with age or being natural. I think there is an overly liberal, at times, push to "like" what others do. I won't demean someone to their face about a flaw, but I will never find it appealing. You can't choose to like, say, liver and onions, any more than you can choose to dislike really saggy ones.

Your opinion, however, can change, if you look into why you like/dislike whatever. Be it societal norms, or a naive perspective, or a psychological tie to something unpleasant.(that last is relevant to what I was talking about, an dislike that is not entirely rational)

I used to love all manner of whiskey ...

Eh, Fark's a hobby like any other(and I'm currently off the other hobbies, everything gets old after X amount of time). If it's worth doing, it's worth putting some thought and consideration into.

Thanks for taking the time to think about what I was saying. All too often people's habit is to leap straight to arguing, skipping the whole troublesome thought process, end the whole affair tends to be less enriching for it.

And for a different GIS, rich boobs.

NSFW, but classy

The above was a Boobs for Charity shot, so I GIS'd that because rich was a bit dull.

And that got slow, so I tried classy breasts, got one nice result.

I give up, I'm better when I'm given a theme. just "big" is too easy. On second thought, I kept up with it and found one unique gem of a pic.

Yea, I understand the wave thing. It's one of the reasons I have not been posting pictures. Imageshack is biatching about the amount I currently have and I don't want to pay for more storage.

Flip side though, I usually snag 3-4 people per thread like this. I think it all works out in the end.

Certainly. In a way, your efforts do result in plenty of pics, and more people that know about it, the more likely people are to start contributing before a notice comes out. I know I have, though not on any superstar quality like some of the users here. They have stamina, I have internet ADD.

Not really, but you are more or less a meme(not like a joke), a constant thing, a token effort that must be made, a requirement.
But I wasn't mean, so you are on to something, just more neutral.

I did talk about how those things get boring, again, not mean, but neutral. Maybe new SFW pics every once in a while? No more ceiling GD?
I may love a ham sandwich, or a nice steak, but eat it every day and it becomes tasteless. Variety is what I'm talking about, that is all.

The black and cream outfit in this thread is quite common. She's got variety within her sets, but draws from the same 4(or whatever) sets. I first saw that months ago, and see it often. That's regular, but not new.

RobSeace: If so, have you no soul, man?!

No I do not.
/atheist

A joke is funny the first time, and maybe after that if you've forgotten it, or if it's used cleverly at a specific time, but when you hear the same joke every morning, it loses all appeal.

Now, maybe you can watch the same comedian with the same routine day after day after day, but to most, that's boring.

I can assure you, she has far more than just 4 existing sets... And, she does indeed regularly create new ones... Perhaps not as often as we'd all like, but it does happen... It's true I haven't seen any new ones posted to Fark in quite a while, though... But, then again, this is the first real boobies thread we've had in seemingly ages, too! And, she wasn't really working this thread as hard as normal, either...

No I do not.
/atheist

Heh. Same here...

or if it's used cleverly at a specific time

And, that's what most of the Fark memes boil down to, when they're funny... It's sort of like "That's what she said!"... It's a really stupid joke that just shouldn't be as funny as it is, but somehow it always gets me to at least smile... I think it's often a "That's so stupid that it's funny!" sort of thing...

The only regular Fark meme I hate and almost never find the slightest bit funny is the stupid "RIP vaguely-similar-name-to-who-we're-talking-about" shiat... That's just mind-numbingly retarded... Oh, and Rotsky has gotten really, really old...

2012-05-11 04:57:44 PM

RobSeace: any new ones posted to Fark in quite a while, though

The main point was, there is a lot of repetition. I'm not asking her specifically to not post, I would just like to see less of the same old same old. I'm not asking specifically for new content from her, just giving a suggestion so that she's not seen as the same old same old.

I don't mind the RIP meme, because it brings variety to the table. It's like a word association game. It's interesting to see what people come up with. Can't say as I know what Rotsky is by name, only that it sounds like goatse, which is severe no-no land. After googling it, I can say I've never seen it before, seen it mentioned, but that's more of an inside joke, you had to be there kind of think. Like asking kwame why he no wash dishes.(the realdoll thread was awesome, lolcat LOLrealdoll that was more similar to a caption contest. I could care less what the story was, but I simply see his name and giggle because there were so many good captions.

I don't mind actual meme's, what I mind is the mind numbing way they're employed out of habit, not cleverness. Even when I expect one from the headline, I enter the thread to see how it was delivered. When it's simply the Boobies and no text, and the version everyone know's, that's boring, as regular as saying "Hi" when you see someone. No personality, no creativity, just a meaningless ritual.

Reminds me of church, when the priest says something, and it sounds like a bunch of zombies pretty much moaning a reply.

Worse yet, is when people throw in a meme where it doesn't belong. They get confused because "it was funny in that other thread....why not here?" People that think they're being clever are far more often more annoying than the zombies.

If that's understandable. *shrugs*

Not really off topic imo, as it's a result of conversational drift.

You've never seen someone make an obviously wrong 'correction' to a previously correctly spelled word, and then throw a "/pet peeve" at the end? shiat, you must miss a lot of threads! No, thankfully it has died down quite a bit these days, because I think most people are sick of it... (The funniest part of that is always the newbies who have never seen it before, and try to correct the one pulling the Rotsky... But, it's still no funnier than any other troll, which is all it really boils down to...)

I've seen things called a rotsky, but not something that's made sense in and of itself, such as the Welcome to Fark.
I have seen the erroneous "correction", plenty. I do tend to disregard grammar nazi-ish things, pedantry is a form of ad hominem, and pointless more often than not.

omeganuepsilon: but not something that's made sense in and of itself

Wait until you encounter a "Pricipal . Caught sayof" headline... That doesn't make any sense to anyone, including those who use and enjoy it!

pedantry is a form of ad hominem

Not always... It is if you say something like, "What a retard! You can't even use the right words, so obviously your argument is wrong!"... But, if you just point out a mistake, not in any attempt to discredit them or their arguments, I see nothing wrong with it... Especially if it's a really annoying one, like "would of" or "could of"... I want to punch my screen whenever I see that!

Great thread! Last post?

2012-05-11 07:02:22 PM

RobSeace: Especially if it's a really annoying one, like "would of" or "could of"

I suppose a genuine educational post yeah, there's purpose. When it comes off a superiority it gets just as annoying and pointless. What irks me, is when it's backhanded, worded in such a way as where superior meaning is clear, but deniable. "I never called you stupid."

would of.
It's completely possible to know what that's supposed to be, but to type it by accident. Take a dyslexic for example, or someone who learns or think phonetically, or someone who just started with a bad habit. I used to type "athiest" and it took conscious effort to break the habit, still do it on occasion. I'm not even dyslexic, but my hands tend to just really want to do i before e, muscle memory is hard to tweak. One of my common ones is "jsut". Thankfully chrome comes with a spellcheck and underlines things in red for me, because I'm not one to sit around and meticulously review my post.

Sure, it can be annoying, but really sometimes it appears through no real fault of the typist. Everyone gets a stray synapse and makes mistakes in a "no fault" situation, but it's rarely admitted that it's such a thing by the observer out of prejudice, it's often attacked with insults without regard as to the "why". Again, welcome to fark, but still, status quo is not justification to leave fault alone.

RobSeace: "What a retard! You can't even use the right words, so obviously your argument is wrong!"

There is some relevance there at times. Barring a language barrier, wrong words and such can display a failure to grasp a relative concept.

To sum up, there are lots of variable situations where people jump to judgement unjustly. Swimming with sharks, sure. Not a bad idea to try to make the sharks go away though.
