Besides The Walking Dead, it's the only other show on these days that I actually make an effort to watch when a new episode airs for the first time.

Bite me, io9. Once Upon a Time is smarter and better-written than 95% of the shows stinking up TV lately.

I love this show. It's a guilty pleasure, and I hope more people get into it.

That said, those fairy costumes are a nightmare. Looks like a leprechaun barfed on them.

I don't apologize for watching. I know it's terrible and hack but FSM do I love the corniness streaming into my living room every week.

There are a few things that I noticed that would like clarified at some point. First, what happened to Regina's mother? You know what happened to her father, but not her mother. Also, when they went to Wonderland to rescue Henry, it seems as they purposely hid the identity of the Queen of Hearts (covered her face, didn't hear her speak.) Seems a bit suspicious...

I think Regina's mother became the Queen of Hearts. I also have a theory that she's (young) Henry's mother who ran off.

Oh god... it's like Lost all over again...

Well MY theory is: 1) they probably hadn't cast her mother yet and then a few episodes later we get Barbra Hershey who was pretty good.
2) Given the general vanity of both queens I wouldn't put it past Regina that she did some great deal of disfiguration to her mother before she went to Wonderland.

The season finale is this weekend. I'm sure it is one of those set ups that won't pay off until next year. Wait, did it get picked up for another season or is it a one off? I hope it's a one off, I don't see how this would really work over any longer stretch of time.

This could probably last 2-3 seasons. I haven't heard if they are picking it up again, but they would be NBC-level stupid to not. Besides, there are still more to be revealed. They still have to wake everyone. Gold still has to find his son. Belle still has to be rescued from the secret underground dungeon. (BTW, that's probably why Rumple brushed off Belle in fairytale land. He wanted to keep his powers so he can find a way to get his son back). As far as why Gold is working against Regina, he wants Snow and James to get back together. Remember what he said in both worlds - he has a vested interest in their future. So having them back together will probably allow his bottled "True Love" potion to work and get his son back?

I had fun guessing August's identity. I was right. Wooo! My other guess was Peter Pan, but he didn't seem right for the fantasy world.

My husband nailed Henry getting his hands on the pie. My money was on Mary Margaret.

And wait, how did Jefferson/Hatter get back to Storybrook? Argh, mysteries!

He's the only reason to watch the show. He's like a crime lord, but he's also his enforcer.

I think if it goes on for more that 2 it will have to get very stupid. It already has some pretty large plot holes. Why didn't the fairy tell Rumpelstiltskin about the enchanted tree? That would've saved everybody all this trouble.

Didn't Jefferson fall INTO the hat? That is what I assumed and thusly my WTF at his having returned to Storybrook. I thought he ended up back in Fairyland or Wonderland.

Apparently not, you only saw him and the hat fall out the window and when Emma and Mary Margaret looked out, they only saw the hat. So it was a bit of misdirection by the show.

This. It's my and my wifes new LOST night. One of the only things we watch together, which has been fun. Room numbers are 108, flashbacks, certain phrases and even the music comes close.

And btw io9. If I knew you'd say this: Oh dear me this was hilarious. I could have saved myself 2 minutes of reading.

A note to the Syphilis channel (SyFy). This is how you do cheesy. You slip in a little every now and then, but you don't overload the show with nothing but the cheese.

My personal favorite cheesy bit was when Snow was singing to the bird just like in the Disney animation, followed by the broom attack.

Skarekrough: The chick in the high heel boots and leather pants.....

Also note how badass and cool her costuming es every week. Then compare that with what Susan Sarandon wore in a high budget Disney movie. Whatever costume designer made SS look like she ran through Party City on the way to set should be banned from Hollywood.

I liked this show but gave up after the big Belle reveal. As soon as the camera moved to the basement of the hospital everyone and their brother knew who was going to be down there, but the show insisted on treating it like "Big reveal, or BIGGEST REVEAL?"

Neither, thanks.

That and I couldn't get past two problems with it. It's like LOST if A. we'd already known most of the back stories (which cancels out a lot of the fun) and B. the day they left the island the show would have to end. I have doubts they know what to do with the show once everyone gets back to fairy tale land yet getting back is the point of the show, so it'll be a main plot point with little to no traction for as many years as they can get away with it.

It's not just a main plot, like Beckett wanting to solve her mother's murder or LOSTies wanting to get home. It's *the* main plot. Making your main plot point something that can't be resolved until your final episode is just a tease.

Now I'm spending my 'it's just your first season' patience on Grimm (it doesn't seem at all hard for the lead to reconcile his two roles in life, but at least it's funny and I get to see Portland once a week) and Person of Interest (you Once Upon a Time fans can keep all the Oceanic and Apollo Bar references. Michael Emerson was one of the best things about LOST. He can read the phone book and I'd probably DVR it.)

/agreed about Carlyle needing an Emmy, or at least a nom

And the Eagles could have dropped the One Ring into the crack of Mt. Doom straightaway- think of the trouble *that* would have saved!

Wife likes it but I can't seem to get into it. Too convoluted, too many story arcs, too many (paralell) characters...just too damn much going on. It's like a stew or a chowder with every possible meat or fish/seafood and vegetable thrown in.

It's a melange of Fark-like cliches (tasty X, dead fairy), but misses on true humor. But what do you expect from io9 except utter failure?

Same. However, because I like it, it will probably be cancelled this summer. Taking preemptive blame.

It's terrible show, but I keep watching. There is so much potential to be something I'll really enjoy, but I'm afraid that this will be Heroes 2.0. Kill the child actors, hire some of the writers from Fables and push the story along and I'll be happy. Hell, kill the child actor and replay his gruesome death every episode and i'll be happy. freaking annoying runt.
