I know it's a little bit on the early side, but I wanted to give everyone who was interested time to make plans. The EuroFarkers are having a party in Amsterdam on Saturday Sept. 29, and Farker #1 himself (Drew) is planning to show up since he's going to already be in Europe.

Although the venue is TBA at this point, we've done some excellent bar crawls for previous parties.

Many words in English have multiple meanings.

Just spent my 42nd b-day in Amsterdam. I freakin love that town. Couple of my favorite places....barneys uptown for beer and food and as a bonus....you can blaze up while you eat. Also, Excalibur in the RLD. One of the only places around to hear some rock and metal. Man I gotta go back.

You can do a bar crawl pretty much anywhere. Coffee shop crawl is where it's at. And a crawl it would be.

I am sniping some of the American Farkers for my wedding to a fellow Farker. Won't be able to make it this time around.

rocketpants: In case you were wondering...

From your linked article: Dutch authorities opted for a slow start - enforcement of the law began only this month in three southern provinces, next to Belgium, France and Germany. Those are the locations outside the capital where so-called drug tourism is busiest. The rest of the country is meant to follow in January 2013.

Ya, that's the important bit.

Of course a lot can happen between now and September. The law is technically already in effect, so it's possible they could accelerate their enforcement timeline. Probably a good idea to double-check before making a trip.

That's my birthday.

Maybe some well-off UltraFark(tm)/Fark/Liter chick would like to take me to it...

I'm a pretty good time in a dry, snarky kinda way, can hold my beer and am fairly easy on the eyes.

Considering we don't have a government at the moment and that the few parts of the country that have instituted the wiet-pass are having major issues with it there is a good chance the ban will take a lot longer to reach Amsterdam...

Yay for moving to Australia a few weeks before this fark party....

I think it will go away quietly now that the government has collapsed.

Otherwise it'll be gone rather fast after the next government decides that the trouble the law caused (street dealers who also peddle in hard drugs, more crime, increased costs for law enforcement, street dealers who will sell next to schools) isn't worth the effort of keeping other countries happy. I mean, seriously? Only in your won municipality and only 2k members for each shop? There aren't enough shops in the country to get that to work for every person who smokes every now and again. And the shops will be forced to close because there aren't enough regular smokers to keep most of them afloat.

The disruption is already happening... Plus the law is not being enforced. Some coffeeshops on the border have been deliberating breaking the law to force a test case but the Police have done nothing, saying it's an administrative issue. I think it's a law that's bound to fail and the Prosecution Office knows this so aren't doing anything. The pass is not required in Amsterdam and certainly won't even be attempted here until 2013.

The 5th annual EuroFark Party
I'm thinking about starting out at The IJ brewery,
Followed by a canal tour
Then, meet up at a bar, TBD, and bar hopping from there.
