It's difficult for me to get a sense of the angle since I can't see the whole pool table, but it looks like King is about to botch that behind-the-back shot really badly. Even though the article gives him credit for being a good pool player, I must doubt. The pros would cringe seeing a show-boat shot like that.

I was less than impressed, kinda hoping for things like Ghandi shooting a pistol or Mother Teresa on the pooper.

Holy geeze. Doesn't the pic of Mr. Rogers flashing the bird look like Littlefinger from GOT?

Yep, I didn't see James Earl Ray showboating when he made his shot.

Depends. There are instances where that really is the best way to make the shot.

The Alice Cooper and Colonel sanders one is much less odd than the fact that at some point in his life Alice Cooper was neighbors with Groucho Marx (who was in his early 80's at the time) and he used to hang out at Groucho's place with a who's who of vaudeville legends (Who considered Cooper's stage act a continuation of thier own) eating popcorn and watching old movies

It's a picture of Martin Luther King showboating. Did you maybe miss the point of the article?

But I'll admit that I noticed too that he was going to botch it unless there something I'm not seeing in (or out of) the picture.

From that angle I don't know where's he's going with the 9 ball. Banking it back to the corner? Anyway, he could be still setting up when that shot was taken, and he's clearly goofing around by the look on the faces of everyone behind him.

Just think how different the world would have been if he hadn't been expelled from Seminary. Though I do have toruble believing that's Josef since his Biography lists this fact:
" At the age of seven he suffered from smallpox. He survived but the scars remained on his face. Due to this, he was called as "pocky" by his friends."

don't see any smallpox scars in that picture...

I'd agree with you that most serious pool players would consider a behind the back shot bush and showboating but given the circumstances (combination of guys night out and/or a photo op) I'd say it's probably appropriate. Also, it IS difficult to tell from the angle but that shot could easily bank off the front rail and go into the upper-right corner pocket .

And just by the by knowing King was a pool shark is EXACTLY what I expected of him. Men like that always have a secret streak of cool in them.

Charles Manson is the most famous serial killer of all time,

/slams face on desk. First of all..he didn't kill anyone, nor is the the most "famous" of all killers. He incited others to kill for him. Big difference. If anything, he was narcissistic sociopath. But on the list of "most famous" killers, he doesn't even rate in the top 100, as he had not murdered anyone.

//and i could have lived without seeing Winston Churchill's willy. Thanks.

No, Manson probably did kill a number of people. He just wasn't tried for any of those murders.

I spent the weekend at a local Burning Man related event, and I went to Burning Man last year. WInston Churchill's old man penis is way less disturbing than some i have seen.

The Stephen Hawking ones were the best, IMO.

Most of those pics are pretty famous and widely circulated. I think the last two were the only ones I hadn't seen before. But they are awesome.

Alice Cooper has a lot of THE BEST celebrity stories. He has lived a pretty awesome celebrity life (so far).

Ditto. IIRC, Malcolm X admitted in his autobiography that he was basically a male prostitute at one point and I thought this would be something similar.

His interview when he was a guest on Top Gear was fun. At one point, they were talking about his use of drugs and alcohol and went something like this:
"Of all the stuff you've heard about me, maybe about half of it is true. All the stuff you heard about Keith Moon? That's 100% true, and probably only about 10% of it."

Umm, that's trickshot. I'm talking about something along regular tournament play. I think I'd probably die if I saw Allison Fisher or Karren Kor try a behind-the-back shot during a tourney.
