Elizabeth Warren isn't that rich.

No, those are the Fox News reporters they won't let into the Oval Office. Nothing to see here.

Can't Al Franken run with Ben Stein? Who wouldn't want to vote for Franken/Stein?

Joe Biden is probably poorer than most Senators. I recall that his disclosure form in 2008 said he had something like $66,000 in liquid assets. What a snob.

Warren/Franken. VP is supposed to be the attack dog while pres stays above the fray.

What an epic ticket that would be.

Well seeing as how he's from Delaware, maybe it's all credit card debt. I mean, dude dresses real nice.

No difference between rich democrats and rich republicans.

It's a class thing, not an ideological thing.

Either way would attract the youth vote. And hopefully small individual donors, because with Warren on the ticket it would be harder to get business to play along.

I think you need to look up what unprecedented means, Subby.

Honestly thought the headline was about Cuomo, who I think would have a decent shot at getting the nomination but would probably ultimately fail because the political media exists in this bubble where being appealing to urban voters in the major markets is assumed to mean the whole country will love you. How else can you explain the constant claims that Mike Bloomberg (who is pro-Wall Street and anti-gun) would be massively popular and beloved as a moderate alternative should he attempt a third party presidential run?

There is a huge difference. A rich republican won't ever vote to raise their own taxes while a rich democrat will.

Well, seeing as how he's from America and you aren't required to be in Delaware to be beholden to Delaware Credit Card debt.... um, yeah.

I think subby was being sarcastic, since there's only every been one major party ticket that doesn't fit that description (though I guess there will have been 2 once this election is over).

Of the dozen or so people likely to run, I'd say he has one of the better shots at winning the nomination. He's one of the few sitting Democratic Governors of note. I also think that Obama's victory has helped open the door for not playing it safe, a la nominating someone boring like John Kerry.

Warren's not young-she's become a politician very late in life (she's 64 right now; will be 69 on election day, 2016). 2016 would probably be her only chance to run for President before she would be in the "too old" category.

Ignore my previous post since I can't do math and can't delete it and replace it with the following:

And I prefer the term Presidette.

This is a nother great lie from the Right
"Liberals hate rich people"

this could not be further from the truth. Democrats simply think the wealthy should pay their far share in taxes, and be held accountable when them make monumental screw ups that effect the economy.

Before he became VP, Biden always came in at the bottom of the list of richest senators. He was still worth a couple million dollars, by he was "poor" by the standards of the US Senate.

2012-05-08 05:33:41 PM
Joe Biden was actually the poorest senator in office. I mean, the guy's home only had three bedrooms! What a peasant!
