"It was disgusting behaviour by students who are meant to be the cream of the crop," said mother-of-two Tracy Burton, 31, from Cambridge.

Yeah, I think you're the person doing it wrong.

31 year olds are kids? How old are you? 78?

And I don't know how much you know about human biology, but for a woman, if you're not having kids by the age of 35, you're running out of time. Unless you want to go the medically assisted fertility route.

I'm 36. I consider *myself* a kid. I never meant "kid" to be derogatory. In fact, the complete opposite.

Of all the 31-ish year olds I've met, I'd say 10% or so are capable of raising a kid. And of those capable, the sheer majority are better served not doing so and persuing other things in life.

Things are a little different nowadays than my father's (73 years old) America.

I suppose you're one of those people that don't believe an 18 year old knows how to do his own grocery shopping, pay his own utility bills and balance a checking account.

Stop sheltering kids.

"There were no arrests but one student was shovelled into the back of an ambulance. All the mess was tidied away by people from the university."

So, no harm done other than 1 sick college kid and a bunch of hurt sensitive personalities.

People need to get over themselves. These were just kids blowing off steam.

I'm always baffled by the mindset that just because someone is part of an elite or "cream of the crop," they're not allowed to blow off some steam and be a human being. Just like Hillary Clinton isn't allowed to have a beer, or Dubya is a moron for watching football and choking on a pretzel.

Good to know that I don't have to bother with being responsible for at least 3 more years then. I'll just call the bank to tell them to forget about that mortgage and the wife to let her know to start taking her birth control again. I'd better call my boss and let him know that project I've been working on is on hold for a few years too.

That's a rough crowd, leaving some poor unfortunate in such bad shape that it takes a shovel to load him into the ambulance.

I'm always baffled by the mindset that just because somone is supposed to be "cream of the crop" they are good, decent, civil people. If this were done on the campus of North Carolina A&T (and if it was America) the assumption would be that the students who act badly are the rule and not the exception. No one talks about people in the ghetto "blowing off steam".

Garden party held today
Invites call the debs to play
Social climbers polish ladders
Wayward sons again have fathers
Hello, Dad, hello, dad
Edgy eggs and queuing cumbers
Rudely wakened from their slumbers
Time has come again for slaughter
O on the lawns by still Cam waters
A slaughter, it's a slaughter

Champagne corks are firing at the sun again
Swooping swallows chased by violins again
Straafed by Strauss they sulk in crumbling eaves again
Oh God not again

Aperitifs consumed en masse
Display their owners on the grass
Couples loiter in the cloisters
social leeches quoting Chaucer

Doctor's son a parson's daughter
W where why not and should they oughta
Please don't lie upon the grass
Unless accompanied by a fellow
May I be so bold as to perhaps suggest Othello

Punting on the Cam is jolly fun they say
Beagling on the downs, oh please do come they say
Rugger is the tops, a game for men they say

I'm punting, I'm beagling, I'm wining, reclining, I'm rucking, I'm farking
So welcome, it's a party

Angie chalks another blue
Mother smiles she did it too
Chitters chat and gossips lash
Posers pose, pressmen flash

Smiles polluted with false charm, locking on to Royal arms
Society columns now ensured, returns to mingle with the crowds
Oh what a crowd

Punting on the Cam, oh please do come they say
Beagling on the downs, oh please so come they say
Garden party held today they say
Oh please do come, oh please do come, they say.

The US has Greek fraternities and sororities, ostensibly charitable organizations.
The UK has "college drinking societies".
