I assume there's about 70 hours of video of him missing 50,000 shots on the cutting room floor.

2012-05-08 09:23:33 AM
I can't wait to congratulate him on his skills while he's putting my drive-thru order together.

2012-05-08 09:41:41 AM
Only one them seemed reasonably difficult and that was the one he got stuck in the ceiling. But yes, there were probably loads more throws then we saw, but anyone who has played frisbee for a year or two should be able to make most of those throws with enough attempts.

2012-05-08 09:47:07 AM
I am 17% impressed.

How the $!@# does someone do a hammer with that much accuracy? Every time I throw one in Ultimate it's like a hail mary.

I hate not being impressed by trick shot videos, but yeah probably took a million shots we didn't see and its ultimate frisbee: the exclusive I M sport played by tools.

This. Lame video is lame. I remember doing tosses like these all the time during lunch hour in high school.

I'm not all in the know in the would if frisbee. Is this Brodie fella someone of note?

2012-05-08 10:16:41 AM
Also "Brodie" is a stupid name and he should feel bad.

2012-05-08 10:20:07 AM
When he goes #1 in the Frisbee draft he's going to make some serious cash.

I don't do Ultimate, there's too much damn running. Might spill mah beer.

Video's fine, but the headline still confuses me. What in the hell does "video wins the impossible #6" mean?! Is it a grammatical clusterfark commenting on trick #6 being difficult, am I having a brain fart and missing something, is it a reference, or is it just gibberish?

2012-05-08 10:29:32 AM
I love the Wraith, it's my second-favorite driver.

Wow, we fat desk jockeys are really letting this guy have it today! "You get outside too much and have a lot of friends and free time, LOSER! You smile too much and don't seem to hate your life, retard!"

Holy crap we burned his ass!

Same question... I think I'm missing something.
That or subby had a stroke.

Frisbee golf bores me. There is no doubt I would be good at it, but throwing is only half, if that, of why I love playing with flying discs.

This is what you need to try:

Oh, and unless Ultimate players are ok with actual injuries, I won't be playing that, either.

2012-05-08 10:45:18 AM
Eh...it was a cool video. I especially like the boat catch, the dude on the boat sells out. I have played ultimate, occasionally get out to disc golf course, though I am playing more ball golf these days. The AEROBIE is the best thing ever! Nothing like a spring day, wide open park and chasing down that disc.

Damn straight I fly a Wraith. On my 3rd one; original DX trainer actually got overstable with enough lighter fixes to the rim, Champion took a dive in a retention pond, new Pro is the current driver of choice.

Of course throwing is only half...the rest is having a cold beer and getting baked, brah!

He's talented, but seriously lacking in creativity. Other than the speedboat, there were only 2 or 3 unique throws at best.

SmackLT: I can't wait to congratulate him on his skills while he's putting my drive-thru order together.

Except that he was able to quit his job as a math teacher to run clinics and otherwise play ultimate frisbee for a living. It's cool, though. You still have other fast food workers to shiat on.

Great contrast in 2 videos. In one we have a guy who can throw a frisbee accurately and bangs his chest and makes videos to show everyone what he can do. In the one before, we hear of a Marine who at about the same age was awarded the Bronze Star for courage under fire - and didn't even tell his kid. You decide.

This video confirms my belief that ultimate players are colossal douchebags.

Lot of trees on my home course, as well. If you are ever in the market for a good mid-ranger, you should check these out, if you haven't already. Super stable, tough plastic.

Is this anything like a thousand monkeys on a thousand typewriters producing Shakespeare?

Those were very impressive shots. They weren't going towards a person who can move to compensate; they were going to basketball rims and garbage bins. That's like saying that with enough shots, I could eventually score a goal on Pekka Rinne, or eventually hit a home run off Roy Halladay. Maybe true, but sure as shiat doesn't make it easy.

#7 looked more like an accidental hangup while trying to "thread the needle" between the piping and the ceiling than an actual trick shot.

12) Throwing a frisbee into a garbage from really far in a stadium!

I'm looking for a new driver to replace my aging X2. I tend to use super-stable drivers (sidearm).
Anyone try the Flick or the Nuke OS?

The wall shot was the most impressive to me.

What kind of disc was he using?

I would assume a standard disccraft brand 175gram disc.

Haven't tried those, but I tend to be a creature of habit when choosing discs. You might try the Innova Firebird in championship plastic for an overstable driver. The Whippet might be good, too. I tend to throw a lot of Millenium stuff.

I've never thrown a Wraith before, I might need to try one. The stats make it look like a faster, better gliding version of the Orc I started throwing last year. Mine is starting to show it's age and has become my flip disk. I picked up a Champion Boss a couple weeks ago, and have been throwing that reasonably well. I didn't realize how much I had altered my release to accommodate the right-turning Orc until the first couple throws with the Boss.

/Damn, now I want to go throw.

Frisbee is fun. This guy may be a DB but his heart was in the right place, just trying to promote the game/sport he loves.

I disc golf, Been playing half my life. I've played over 40 sanctioned events, played at least one weekly league night a week for several years, played 100 courses in 9 states, friends with and have played with several US & world champions. It is just a good reason to get outside and travel around. I think it is a great game, easy to learn and difficult to master.

X2? Whoa. Old school. Flick is stupid overstable, but works well with a rippin sidearm. Nukes of all sorts love sidearm. Also try a Surge.

Bf+: Flick

The only Flick I've seen in action, I can't throw straight to save my life, but I'm 100% backhand due to a nice arm-snap in a car accident a few years ago. My ex-baseball-pitcher friend throws that motherfarker a country mile, forehand, upwards, and probably coming out of his hand at a 45-degree angle. By the time it reaches orbit 25 clicks downrange, it has leveled out and keeps going for another bazillion feet as it turns over. Annoys the hell out of me.

Nope. I'm in TX and I've not played in NorCal. I have played La Mirrada, El Dorado, and Oak Grove down South. 28127 not current (950's).

I'm thinking my wife will break 900 next week after the update.

That is awsome!

My wife has two Am Doubles World Champion titles but they don't count for much. I know dozens of people who are Doubles Worlds Champs.

My wife did get close in the Kansas City worlds '09. 5th in am women against the strongest group I've seen in am women.
