Clearly, the people remaining in al-Qaeda are their best and brightest.

2012-05-07 08:21:36 PM
Why, it's just in time to be frightened for the elections!

2012-05-07 08:22:13 PM
I guess enough people were getting sick of being molested by the TSA and needed a good ol' fear booster shot.

2012-05-07 08:23:44 PM
I guess we can count the total number of plots thwarted by the TSA to 1 now. Complain some more.

2012-05-07 08:23:58 PM
They hate us for our flannels.

2012-05-07 08:24:48 PM
How are you going to bang 72 virgins with no junk

2012-05-07 08:25:17 PM
so we all have to wear kilts, the traditional way now?

2012-05-07 08:25:23 PM
The TSA planned this all out so that their defense spending would not be cut!

/donning my tinfoil hat

2012-05-07 08:25:40 PM
I guess no more tighty-whitey delicates on airplanes now...

2012-05-07 08:26:32 PM
it turns out that when the government pays attention to terrorism, they can do a pretty good job of fighting it. unlike the Bush administration, which almost completely ignored terrorism until 9/11.

I know sometimes people don't read the articles, but this is the first time I've seen someone who apparently didn't even read the *headline*.

Jaws_Victim: I guess we can count the total number of plots thwarted by the TSA to 1 now. Complain some more.

It says it was thwarted by the CIA. The TSA would've been too busy groping that cute blonde or harassing that person who makes a fuss about getting irradiated to actually catch the guy with the bomb.

2012-05-07 08:27:08 PM
So the State Department says the CIA created Al-Qaeda, but the BBC says Al-Qaeda doesn't exist. I don't know who to believe.

2012-05-07 08:27:08 PM
so, no minor explosion between the legs then ...

Next time I fly, I kilt.

Easy homeland terroristic-search-and-save.

wait - so...are we supposed to be afraid of terrorists and vote Republican...? or are we supposed to be afraid of terrorists and vote Obama? Or maybe we're supposed to be afraid and not question the TSA gate rape.

*sigh*

look, if you want me to live in fear you have to be unambiguous about just what it is i'm supposed to be terrified of and what sort of asinine policy i'm supposed to authorize in order to pretend i'm safer from terrorist threats.

Good point. If only he had lobbed some more Tomahawks at a few more tents, I wouldn't have to be giving you a B...Bu..but Clinton too. Dumbass.

This is how it's supposed to work. The CIA catches them over there so the TSA shouldn't have to molest grandma over here.

2012-05-07 08:34:43 PM
wambu: the TSA caught him, right?

playing devil's advocate here, but you could argue that the fact these terrorists were looking to get on international-US flights and not getting on planes in the USA like 9-11 might be due to the terrorists perceiving international airports as being easier to get through than American ones and maybe you credit the TSA for that.

2012-05-07 08:34:48 PM
haha libs you see now that the TSA is the greatest defense we have vs the terrorists

Yes, but remember that the Department of State is not necessarily in the truth telling business any more than any of the other alphabet soup agencies.

I believe this like I believe that there was an Iranian security agent planning to attack the Saudi diplomat in the United States. Wait a second I didn't believe that either. I honestly think they are just making shiat up now to legitimize bloated budgets.

Look at that, the global power house that is Al Quaeda is back to full strength, carrying out amazingly financed and created operations truly worth the full force of American military might spending over a trillion dollars a year to protect your way of life. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Or it could mean that, you know, the terrorists weren't in America to begin with.

I had co-workers that had to change their underwear everytime Ashcroft kicked it up to orange. People that live in fear like to live in fear, and there's a lot of them.

There have been no terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since Obama became president.

Cower in fear bad guys!

They asked what happened to the would be bomber. Nobody knows. My guess? He's shark bait right along with Osama.

/Good riddance

the 9-11 guys weren't either. but it is very possible these guys would have a lot harder time getting visas and whatnot than the 9-11 guys. remember in my post i said devils advocate.

CapnBlues: it turns out that when the government pays attention to terrorism, they can do a pretty good job of fighting it. unlike the Bush administration, which almost completely ignored terrorism until 9/11.

Yes, DAMN Bush! He should TOTALLY have thwarted the terrorists in those nine months he was president before 9/11!!!!

With all the crap he did, you're going with that? Really?

And I don't believe the CIA was behind stopping the attack. Obviously the CIA is stealing credit from those highly trained crack operatives we know as the TSA.
