If he was such a crusader for truth, as he claims, he would be eager to talk to a grand jury.

Mrbogey: Felgraf: Oh, cool, so does that mean those anarchists they arrested *weren't* trying to blow up a bridge?

Since, you know, they didn't *actually* have a bomb...

Did O'Keefe have something he thought was a wiretapping device?

Mrtraveler01: It was not clear precisely what the men were trying to do in Ms. Landrieu's office, or what kind of information they were trying to gather.

How is it not clear when he stated beforehand to many people what his intent was and all the equipment he had was used toward that intent?

fusillade762: I'm sure someone with a history of secretly taping people just wanted to see the phone closet out of curiosity.

So you don't actually have proof he wanted to disable her phones or mess with them in some way?

The guy plead to entering a federal building under false pretenses. Sounds about right. But what motive would lead him to recording himself damaging equipment? C'mon and use Occam's razor. It was a stunt that was poorly planned that failed horribly for him. It wasn't terrorism or attempted vandalism.

I think Occam would say that he wanted to access the phone closet so he could install eavesdropping equipment, it would be consistent with his MO in general. I mean, regardless of your political ideology, you've got to think there's something wrong with a guy trying to spy on phone calls of senators... god only knows what he would do if he got hold of sensitive national security information... we'd see it on Drudge in a matter of seconds.

As a vagina-owner I'm offended. Please don't compare them to O'Keefe. Vaginas are wonderful things that everyone (except maybe gay men) should love and respect.

"Yesterday, a representative of the state of New Hampshire attempted to serve me with a criminal grand jury subpoena. My lawyer, Mike Madigan, has requested a copy of it . . . thus far the attorney general of New Hampshire has declined to provide us a copy of that."

Well, if you'd just let them serve you the subpoena you'd have a copy now, wouldn't you?

Dumbass.

Love how the few feeble attempts to White Knight this mouth breathing Breitbart wannabe have come pretty much exclusively from the professional troll brigade.

Almost as funny as the idea of a bunch of NH Republicans who think showing up at their local country club on a Sunday to see James O'Keefe speak is a pretty good idea. Do they still imagine he still has even a single shred of credibility left to his name? That associating their name with his is a good idea? How sad.

You baggers have such principles. Centuries ago, men let themselves be torn to pieces by lions for their beliefs.
Decades ago, guys like Mandela and Ghandi allowed themselves to be imprisoned and went on hunger strikes for their beliefs.

He's lucky that girl he invited to his rape barn didn't mace his ass and file attempted rape charges. I guess that's why he invited his male friend to watch so that he'd have backup and a friendly witness if she did press charges.

Cork on Fork: DirtyDeadGhostofEbenezerCooke: Weaver95: DirtyDeadGhostofEbenezerCooke: He was caught trying to bug a US Senator's office...why isn't he in federal prison?

that's an interesting question.

Upon further review, he took 3 years of probation, which is still running. I suppose his probation officer could order him to visit and invite the NH official to be present.

No, there is no condition of Federal probation which would authorize that.

Yes, there is no condition of Federal probation which would prohibit that.

Mrbogey: DirtyDeadGhostofEbenezerCooke: He was caught trying to bug a US Senator's office...why isn't he in federal prison?

Because he didn't try to do that.

You can't wiretap a phone when you don't have wiretapping equipment. Saying he did is like saying someone who brought an open container of water on a flight tried to bomb it.

Well, you are right! He "pleaded guilty ...to misdemeanor charges of entering federal property under false pretenses." They were only dressed as telephone repairmen, asking for access to Senator Landrieu's phones. They were probably just going to shoepolish the earpieces as an harmless prank!

I don't know what the original felony charges he pleaded down from were.

Hey, I said you guys were right! I thought that automatically inferred I was wrong, but if not, I WAS WRONG.

yeah, this is where you're a dumbass. There's a difference between "hero" and "the guy wasn't there to do wiretapping as evidenced by the lack of wiretapping equipment". He is a confessed criminal and by all accounts a reprehensible human being. That said, the truth doesn't have a bias.
