He has no move besides an offensive foul dunk followed by posing and preening and staring down at the guy he fouled while chewing on his mouthpiece?

I think he's mad because Blake really is a pure athlete(and a better athlete than him). If he ever polishes his game, he'll be as good as Malone ever was.

As it happens, yes.

But we are far from the only fanbase that is tired of Blake's shtick. Blake acting like the baddest mo-fo on the planet would mean more if he actually had a counter move or had accomplished anything worth beating his chest about yet.

That's why if a team simply denies Chris Paul the ball in the 4th quarter of any game, the Clippers lose.

Still smarting over not getting CP3, eh? I agree, you guys got screwed.

Me, I'd take 20 points and 10 boards a night any time. But then I live in Charlotte, and we don't have professional basketball here.

Nah, it worked out. It would have been nice I suppose, as we ended up losing Odom anyway and it would have cost us him and Gasol, but I am satisfied seeing David Stern's rejection of our offer blow up in his face. Ben Gordon hardly played, they wanted to get rid of Chris Kaman almost immediately, the Hornets missed the playoffs and Stern looks like an idiot.

Blake needs to act like he's been there before. Keep him outside ten feet and he is nullified.

As for the comment about Karl Malone, he was a beast and became a hall of famer, but he was a dirty-ass son of a biatch. He and Stockton together were like a batting cage pitching machine loaded up with elbows. I tolerated him on the Lakers (for all the good he did there,) but still hated his guts. Griffin can become similar, but he needs to stop acting like he's the shiat.

Wow. I think I wandered into a Clipperfan zone. I'd heard these exist, but most of the time the inhabitants were too embarrassed to show their faces.

Settle down boys. Sorry the Lakers kept you from raising your first Pacific Division banner. It would have looked nice next to the 16 NBA Championship banners the Lakers have up there.

The Lakers have Pacific Division banners too. I think they use them as bath towels or car covers.

I've never heard Blake be anything but humble about his abilities and his place in the league.
Also, how do you see that "blowing up in Stern's face?" The Hornets were not going to be a playoff team without Chris Paul. They don't have any expensive long term contracts with old guys, and they've been sold. That looks like a success to me.

Not me. I'm on the wrong coast and the games are too late at night. For a second year player, the guy is a beast. Given time and his work ethic, I think he'll be a perennial All Star.

And you might wanna tone it down a little. Your last post would make a Yankees fan blush, and those guys are douchnozzles.

This looks a little more like a Bitterlakersfanswhoareupsetthattheirteamisn'tthemostinterestinginLA zone to me. Until someone consistently shuts Griffin down, I don't really see why he has to tone it down. It's the old "if you want me to not run up the score, play defense" thing. I'm not a huge fan of the showboating, but he's absolutely as good as he thinks he is.

/hates basketball. My home team won in the 50's and ended up as the Kings.

He's humble off the court. On the court he doesn't try to score, he tries to humiliate, to posterize, and it is not respected or appreciated around the league.

Stern was offered Lamar Odom, Louis Scola, Kevin Martin and Goran Dragic and a #1 pick in 2012 draft. He turned it down due to pressure from other owners (even though he denies that.)

That was a playoff team he could have had. Instead he got Ben Gordon (injured,) Chris Kaman (unwanted,) Al-Farouq Aminu (whatever,) and a # 1 pick. And throw in a couple 2nd rounders somewhere in time.

Team would have sold anyway, maybe for more if they were a playoff team.

Lamar Odom - 32
Louis Scola - 32
Kevin Martin - 29
Goran Dragic - 26

Also, I don't know what playoffs you're watching, but that is not a playoff team.

You seem mad. You really shouldn't be. Instead of getting a punch of old guys and Goran (who had no value at the time), he got one guy who can be good if he stays away from the injury bug (Eric Gordon), a nice expiring contract in Kaman, a rookie wing who doesn't take too much room (Aminu), and Minnesota's first round pick. (which should land in the top 7) Stern actually wanted the team to have a future instead of being stuck in a shiatty spot where Houston is where they keep missing the playoffs, but can't get good enough picks to improve.

Blake is emotional during the games, humble to the press and public. I'm fine with that.

You mean Eric Gordon, who was the crux of the trade. Problem is Gordon got hurt. Gordon is a star in the making. Kaman was an expiring contract. Aminu is all upside potential, but raw. This is a better trade than Pau for Marc and Kwame, and eventhough Marc is now a beast and that trade was and still is reviled by everyone but Laker fans because they were myopic, just like you.

Plus, Blake isn't nearly as bad as Kobe was in his youth. Blake isn't running Paul out of town because he wants his time in the spotlight.

He doesn't always dunk. He's got a decent hook shot. He takes a lot of jumpers, but he still shot 55% this year. He rebounds. Biggest drawback is that he doesn't care to play defense. (Amar'e syndrome)

I was going to put that, but then I noticed that he wasn't so bad his rookie year. (64% isn't good, but you can work with that) I'll wait to see what he doesn't next year before I label him as an awful foul shooter.

Disagree. By your logic they should go to the Timberwolves?

It's nice to see the Clippers do well, insofar as that they've had their 2nd winning season since I've been aware of anything more than Michael Jordan. But part of me doesn't like it because the league blocked the CP3-to-Lakers trade, so it feels like he's only on any team other than the Lakers because of Stern's dick move, thanks to small market owners like Dan Gilbert biatching about the trade.

Yeah his humilty really shows when he flexes over the guy he just posterized and then glares at the opposing bench.

Honestly thats what I like about him and why we as a culture admire Chuck Norris more than Dr. Henry Kissinger.

If I drew more than double the flagrant fouls of the #2 player on the list(Lebron), I'd also get pissed off and try to show up the other team.

Let's see:

1) Griffin isn't THAT spectacular of a dunker IMO. I'd take Darryl Dawkins, Shawn Kemp, etc. But, I do agree that his dunk ferocity to melanin ratio is likely unprecedented, and that's something that seems to get some people excited. Whatever.

2) I haven't watched too much of him outside sportscenter, but have been surprised in the playoffs to see that he does seem to have some offensive moves in the paint. Not amazing, but good enough to build on along with his athleticism. If he can learn to pretend to play defense a bit better, he might eventually be almost as good as the hype, unless he's already started believing it and stagnates.

3) The guy flops like a mofo. It's really too bad that it works in the NBA. It's pathetic to see someone they tout as this beast of a player falling down and pretending to be hurt over nothing. Maybe the NBA will just stop showing slow-mo replays when they make star players look bad.
