My predictions:

Spurs @ Jazz: After three embarrassing outings, Jazz will claw and fight and will even lead the Spurs once or twice, but they still don't have an answer for Parker. Final score: Spurs 105, Jazz 99

Grizzlies @ Clippers: Chris Paul will be feeling more comfortable and in a zone and will have a decent game, but this one will still be close. Memphis has a lot to fight for and nearly won the last game. Their energy will help them eke out a win in LA. Final score: Grizzlies 94 Clippers 92

I can only hope for this, i think the jazz fall behind early and end up losing by 15-20

/also whats the over under on the post count today? 65?

My predictions:
Spurs @ Jazz: After three minutes into the first quarter the spur will lead by 15, a drunk Karl Malone will struggle past security to try to win the game himself. David Robinson seeing Karl Malone score two back to back buckets rips off his brooks brother suit and runs onto the court as well. David Robinson is tazed and arrested, Final Score: Jazz 88 Spurs 64

Grizzlies @ Clippers: Final score: Grizzlies 94 Clippers 92

I agree with your predictions. The Jazz have pride and guts, and that counts for a lot, but they don't have the manpower to stop the Spurs. Parker is playing at the top of his game and Duncan looks years younger all of a sudden.

The Grizz/Clips game will be more interesting. I wonder how Caron's hand is feeling? I think he added just enough of a wrinkle in the Clips' offense to keep the Grizzlies off balance. If it feels better today, he could be the x-factor and keep the momentum on the Clippers' side.

Apparently, the Jazz have already thrown in the towel against the Spurs, and it's kinda hard to argue with Al Jefferson. Aside from the Lakers, who really has the size to beat the Spurs down low? I would have never guessed at the beginning of the year that a team starting Diaw at C, Danny Green, and rookie Kawhi Leonard would be the team to beat, but here we are.

They showed a clip of Jefferson and Devin Harris on the news here, and, if it was indicative, the Jazz have already checked out of the series.

It's almost as though there are two teams with zero doubt that the Spurs are winning the series.

down 10 in the 2nd... yeah this is going how i expect it to, and for the record i dont think the spurs are a top 5 team this year.

doesnt say much about my jazz tho, but god damn i dont care for the attitude, movement, defense, or personality of this team, id say blow it up, but no one is coming to utah.

not a top 5 team? I can see arguments for Chi, Mia, Okc, being better, but you think two other teams are better then the Spurs? Have you not caught a lot of games this year?

That last pass by Duncan before the half is, in a nutshell, why the Spurs are so farking good.

To be honest i havent caught a lot of games, and most of the games i saw were ugly ( but remember ive been watching mostly the jazz). The spurs look like a good team, but i see them having problems against a lot of teams, the spurs are not as good defensively as the jazz are making them look.

the spurs have benefited the most from a shortened (albeit compressed season). They look exploitable and i think in addition to the teams you listed (well not the bulls without rose), i think the lakers celtics and clippers all match up well against the spurs, and yes ill even through denver into the mix (yes i realize that i am seriously disrespecting the spurs, but this isnt 2005 anymore.) I think against a physical or athletic team the spurs will struggle mightily.

Ibaka and Perkins are indeed nasty. I really love those two on the defensive end.

considering how athletic and physical the Spurs are I'm have trouble understanding what the fark you're talking about.

As drew46n2 pointed out, the core is still there, Pop is a phenomenal coach (maybe best in the league right now), so they've got experience, some talented youth, and a coach that understands them really, really well. I like the Lakers and I remember the Lakers dismantling the Spurs back in the day, but this Spurs team is actually better, in my opinion. They're not flashy, but they're tough, experienced, and can make teams pay for mistakes. They know each other very, very well. The Jazz are weak, but the Spurs are doing the one thing they've had trouble doing in the past: putting their foot on their opponent's neck when that team is down. Clippers don't have that killer instinct yet. Neither does Memphis. Celtics have it but I don't see them being able to prevail against a young, fast team for four quarters. The Heat don't have it. Yet.

unless the 2012 edition comes with a time machine they are all 7 years older. Im not saying im infallible or omniscient but im not so out of touch either as not being able to call this game. its just like my opinion man.

that said who on the spurs would consider fall into the athletic, and who would you call physical?

To be fair, there are ten times the number of NHL fans on Fark as their are NBA fans. As someone who's read through lots of sports threads here (NBA, NHL, MLB, Soccer and NASCAR), this one is completely consistent with the general tone. Actually, some of the most bitter ones I've seen have been NASCAR and Soccer threads. People take those waaaaaayyy seriously.

Tony Parker is only 29. They were a surprise this year (maybe the shortened season had something to do with it) but isnt it about time we expect them to be contenders most every season? Are they good because they are athletic? Are they good because they are physical? I couldnt say. I do know they are good because they play solid team ball on both ends of the floor and they have experienced leaders. Age is a non-issue at this point in my opinion.

Completely agree. I don't particularly like the Spurs, but I respect them tremendously. They're very good, very solid, and while they're not flashy they will absolutely find and exploit a team's weaknesses. They've won the title three times in the last ten years. They remind me of the aging dad that slaps down the teenager who forgets that the old man is quicker than he looks and wily.

Hey man don't run. Just I am curious who is better then the spurs, defensively they are in the top third and are number one offensively. Looking at pure stats, it goes Chi,Sas,Okc,Mia,Lal,Ind,Lac,Mem. With a huge gap between the top four and the next four. Chi, and Sas are really close with a slight gap then Okc, Mia. I watch the teams play, the spurs are by far the deepest in the league, Chi is done for the season. Okc and Mia are still the final favorites. Lal are better suited for the playoffs but I can't seem them beating Okc. So really at this point in the playoffs I am 95% sure (baring injuries) one of three teams Mia, Okc and Sas will win the championship, they are just that much better then everyone else.

I know the Spurs are never on TV unless you live in South Texas, but really, this team is not the old formula anymore. Their style is much more up-tempo than in the past. Including the regular season, they're on a 14-ish game winning streak, including beating the Lakers twice, in two blowouts. They're #2 in the league in scoring and have had 3 double-digit win streaks. No one else in the league even had one. Oh, they also have a winning record against the Thunder, so, there's that.

I'd like to see the Clips v. Nuggets in the WCF. Between Chris Paul's and Gallinari's flops I'll bet neither team averages 50 points for the series. It'd be like watching soccer.
