I put ice in my coffee and that makes it less sloshy.

I was told once if you don't look at the liquid in your cup as you walk you won't spill it.

You'd think that people at a place called 'UCSB' would come up with cooler stories than this (bro).

"I expect it is more cost-effective for manufacturers to just provide a lid for our coffee mugs, which some already do," he says. "But...

Leave it to engineers to spend hours trying to resolve something that already has a solution.

I certainly hope tax dollars are somehow involved in this important, revolutionary study.

I've found that it's easier to walk the coffee unspilled if it's in a cup that is in a saucer. I don't know why, but holding the saucer is much easier to keep flat than holding a cup or mug by the handle.

Leave it to guidance counselors to mock actual research.

My dad figured this out nearly 20 years ago, watching me try to walk across a yard with an open cup of liquid and failing, he thought for a second and told me to "break step" about every tenth step or so. Damned if it didn't work perfectly then and since.

I don't know any guidance counselors, so I couldn't comment. Now go work on something else that isn't broken, precious.

I'd work on your face, but you said something that isn't broken! HEY-OH

Okay, I'll stop. That's probably best.

Brand new carpet in our office. Coffee maker way over there. By the water cooler. Little plastic cups from water cooler inverted fit interference fit inside the rim of my coffee cup. Poke air hole in top so the steam doesn't pop it off. Leave it on until you are ready to drink it. It keeps it hotter longer, too. Reuse plastic cup forever.

If you like then you should have put a lid on it.

Liquid container for minimizing sloshing

/It's for tactical purposes, so special forces don't make "sloshing" noise when running with water containers
//not joking

This mug looks badass, and has the added benefit of greatly reducing sloshing (despite what the promotional photo would have you think). A bent cylinder isn't really a very practical shape, but it does work rather well.

they were really trying to figure out how to not slosh the beer out of their cup as they walked along DP at night, but disguised it as research into coffee spillage!
