Well, I'm somebody who DIDN'T vote for Mr. Obama in 2008...but, I will absolutely vote for him this November.

Has he been a perfect president? No.

But, he's been pretty damn good considering the situation he faced upon entering office, the circumstances he's faced since and the opposition he's had to deal with through it all.

This is what I wrote the day the president was inaugurated: "though I didn't vote for him, I wish the president all the best of luck. People need to give him some space and a chance. Our country is depending on him now."

And, unlike the Fark Independents™, I actually meant what I wrote.

Neither was Lemmy.

As for Sixx, I don't think he'll be voting for Romney. I hate Motley Crue ( except the one album recorded with John Corabi which funnily enough most Crue fans hate) but Nikki's solo stuff with Sixx AM is actually pretty decent.

Having caught his radio show now and then and I'm pretty sure he's not a Republican, at least not the way they are now. But I've also noted that he's pretty clueless about a lot of things and probably thinks the repubs are still the semi-reasonable party they once were. I seriously doubt he's paid any attention the primary or even knows who the big three repub nominees were. So there's a good chance he will in fact vote Republican and have absolutely no idea at all what he's voting for.

Seriously how in god's name did you come up with that conclusion?

Situation he was faced upon?
a. A deep economic recession he wasn't blamed for that gave him incredible political capital.
b. A filibuster proof one party majority and completely decimated opposition.
c. A fawning media that was proud of themselves for getting the first black president elected that would give him every opportunitity to succeed.
d. A financial "crisis" that gave him cover to pass whatever the hell he wanted for the first year and a half he was president.
Opposition?
He had the largest one party majority in 40 years when he took office!!!! What more do you farking want? In political terms the guy was handed a straight flush right out of the box somehow screwed it up! They would be carving Bill Clinton's face on mount rushmore if he was given that hand.

I honestly cannot think of one reason to re-elect this guy unless you are in complete denial of reality. Mitt Romney isn't a great candidate so far, maybe he won't be a good president, but what we do know is the guy in the whitehouse today is a disaster. Just look at his record and tell my why does he deserve to keep his job? 17 trillion in debt, 2% GDP, 8% unemployment, shrinking labor force, a healthcare bill that is a complete mess that will cost three times what was advertised (so far),.....seriously WTF.

We all know he can deliver speech, but nobody cares what he says anymore.

If you can't see the pending disaster in the distance as a result of electing a GOP candidate this election cycle then you are too myopic and stupid for words. The GOP is outright telling us that they are going to fark the country. Are you paying any attention whatsoever?

I thought it was a commentary on the relentless march of progress -- the very ideas that seem so progressive and revolutionary today will be trite and old-fashioned in 20 years' time.

Of course, the fact that "conservative" has now become synonymous with "reactionary" might change that.

It's none of those things. It's certainly not that in the course of 20 years, NIkki Sixx went from liberal to conservative without changing a single idea. Good always overpowered the evils
Of all man's sins...
But in time
The nations grew weak
And our cities fell to slums
While evil stood strong
In the dusts of hell
Lurked the blackest of hates
For he whom they feared
Awaited them... Now many many lifetimes later
Lay destroyed, beaten, beaten down,
Only the corpses of rebels
Ashes of dreams
And blood stained streets
It has been written
"Those who have the youth
Have the future"
So come now, children of the beast
Be strong
And Shout at the Obama!
