Gyrfalcon: Some Bass Playing Guy: I'd like to know who exactly cares about Nikki Sixx's politics. Besides the coonts at Breitbart, I mean.

I'd like to know who even remembers who Nikki Sixx is. Period.

Shout at the Devil was one of the best metal albums of the 80s, but I'm probably too old to matter.
I'm also a bug fan of The Dixie Chicks and Wang Dang Sweet Poontang is one of the best love songs ever written [;)]

That being said I don't give a shiat who a musician, actor, author, whoever supports for a political office.

Well, Ozzy wasn't born in the USA, but let's make him Secretary of Defense.

acad1228: Fark Me Runnin: I'm all in favor of Lemmy being president, but he's too busy BEING FARKING GOD to take such a lowly office.

Yeah, well that and the fact that he was born in England....

The whole "must be born in the US" thing is really more of a guideline than a rule these days.

i'd love to hear who, of all candidates, he DOES support...

any answer other than Obama would make one look pretty pathetic.

remember nikki, you have to choose one of them
if you're going to play the democracy game.

I would have thought that separation of church and state would stop Lemmy from being God and President at the same time.

Maybe Nikki Sixx will change his mind when America toughens image with Umlauts

But, he's been pretty damn good considering the situation he faced upon entering office, the circumstances he's faced since and the opposition he's had to deal with through it all.

Seriously how in god's name did you come up with that conclusion?

Situation he was faced upon?
a. A deep economic recession he wasn't blamed for that gave him incredible political capital.
b. A filibuster proof one party majority and completely decimated opposition.
c. A fawning media that was proud of themselves for getting the first black president elected that would give him every opportunitity to succeed.
d. A financial "crisis" that gave him cover to pass whatever the hell he wanted for the first year and a half he was president.
Opposition?
He had the largest one party majority in 40 years when he took office!!!! What more do you farking want? In political terms the guy was handed a straight flush right out of the box somehow screwed it up! They would be carving Bill Clinton's face on mount rushmore if he was given that hand.

I honestly cannot think of one reason to re-elect this guy unless you are in complete denial of reality. Mitt Romney isn't a great candidate so far, maybe he won't be a good president, but what we do know is the guy in the whitehouse today is a disaster. Just look at his record and tell my why does he deserve to keep his job? 17 trillion in debt, 2% GDP, 8% unemployment, shrinking labor force, a healthcare bill that is a complete mess that will cost three times what was advertised (so far),.....seriously WTF.

We all know he can deliver speech, but nobody cares what he says anymore.

If you can't see the pending disaster in the distance as a result of electing a GOP candidate this election cycle then you are too myopic and stupid for words. The GOP is outright telling us that they are going to fark the country. Are you paying any attention whatsoever?

I have to assume that God wouldn't be caught dead with this hairdo - and, in any case, God plays a Tele, not an SG.

coco ebert: Anyone been following Gawker's heavy metal presidential endorsements? It's pretty hilarious. Link

That's hilarious. TY for linkage. ^_^

Specially liked Oderus Urungus of Gwar's response to the question of presidential endorsements...

"Murdering every presidential candidate on a gigantic wheel of over-sized knives".

Man, that guy's really mellowed. Back in the day he'd have used chain saws rather than knives. Guess we all grow up eventually.

stoli n coke: soy_bomb: Perhaps Mr. Sixx hasn't heard that President Obama killed Usama. The Administration has been very low key about this.

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sounds of Republican administrations not killing Osama bin Laden.

He's just upset because somewhere deep inside his wee, conditioned brain a little tiny voice of truth screams out to him that his vote in 2008 for John "I won't go into Pakistan" McCain was a vote to keep Bin Laden alive.

Making noises like the above derp is how he deals with that.

Of all the musicians turned political blow hards, Mustaine is the one that pains me the most because he's a big guitar hero of mine and I am a huge Megadeth fan. He's always sort of leaned conservative, but he took some pretty good shots at the Neo-Cons in The System Has Failed.

Now he's gone full-derp. The guy's a Birther, for fark's sake.

2012-05-08 07:29:02 AM
Having caught his radio show now and then and I'm pretty sure he's not a Republican, at least not the way they are now. But I've also noted that he's pretty clueless about a lot of things and probably thinks the repubs are still the semi-reasonable party they once were. I seriously doubt he's paid any attention the primary or even knows who the big three repub nominees were. So there's a good chance he will in fact vote Republican and have absolutely no idea at all what he's voting for.

BMulligan: I have to assume that God wouldn't be caught dead with this hairdo - and, in any case, God plays a Tele, not an SG.

I think Jesus is more of a Tele player, while God rocks a Les Paul. Jesus is a little more forgiving and brotherly, so I think he prefers a thinner, twangier, more shimmering tone.

God is very much into smiting, fire and brimstone, so he needs the added bottom end and sustain of a Les Paul. Probably an alpine white custom with the gold hardware.

Neither was Lemmy.

As for Sixx, I don't think he'll be voting for Romney. I hate Motley Crue ( except the one album recorded with John Corabi which funnily enough most Crue fans hate) but Nikki's solo stuff with Sixx AM is actually pretty decent.
