Nikki Sixx just made sure he will never work in the industry again with that comment. Which is a good thing, since it might keep Crue from plopping out another album.

kab: Yes, because laughably bad bass players are always who I turn to for political insight.

He's not laughably bad. He wrote most of the songs and lyrics to all their albums.

Last decent album they did.

Gotta say I enjoyed everything prior to GGG

Some Bass Playing Guy: I'd like to know who exactly cares about Nikki Sixx's politics. Besides the coonts at Breitbart, I mean.

Based on your appearance here and the comments, I'm guessing you do

The coonts at Brietbart do.

Oh, wait. My bad...

Seriously, I like Motley Crue, but there aren't very many musicians whose political views I listen to. Frank Zappa was one, and I could always respect Alice Cooper's views, since he was actually rather sane in his views.

Now Ted Nugent, THERE'S a conservative who sure knows his stuff, amitite?

Nope. Means that the parties change platforms so much they often just switch positions with each other.

Yeah, I am getting real sick of people judging Obama by the crowd at the Correspondent's Dinner. The president doesn't personally invite people, dammit! There have been various undeserving celebrities/clowns at every one of these ever.

I'd imagine last year Donald Trump was invited by order of the President, as was his hairpiece.

Nobody SUPPORTS Obama, but the idea of having any of the other candidates in office is terrifying. Hell, Romney and Newt have already sold out the rest of our rights - Santorum was dumb enough to do it for free.

To be fair, Lohan was Gretchen Carlson's guest. Kim Kardashian was Fox News's guest.

I like what God had to say about religion:

Don't need no blind belief
Don't need no comic relief
Don't need to see the scars
Don't need Jesus Christ Superstar
Don't need no Sunday Television
Bet your life you don't need religion

Don't need no time for prayer
Don't save no knee-pads for me up there
If your head's alright, ya don't need binoculars to see the light
Ya don't need no miracle vision
Bet ya life you don't need religion

I don't need no Santa Claus
Don't believe in fairies no more
Don't need to go to confession
I'm already trying to fight depression
Don't need no exorcism
Bet ya I don't need religion

bhcompy: Who would win in a wrestling match between Lemmy and Obama?

Here's the thing. Somehow, Obama would come out to the ring with a full-on, naturally grown Lemmy handlebar 'stache that wasn't there the night before.

And then start playing bass while Lemmy breaks into "Ace of Spades"

And then Fox and Friends would report that the real winner was the post-racial south, and how Lemmy and the rest of the communists he represents are the real racists - calling the presidebt a spade... really now!

2012-05-07 03:30:46 PM
Obama keeps this up, he's gonna lose the entire ant-snorting demographic.

2012-05-07 03:41:50 PM
Since I'm not going to click on the dead man's link to RTFA... is he disappointed that Obama has not gone left enough for his taste? If so, then go ahead and vote Republican. I'm sure they will meet this musician's left policies.

2012-05-07 03:44:58 PM
I'm not a big fan of Obama. There are several areas where he has disappointed me. If someone were to ask, I'd say I don't approve of him. If someone asked the right track/wrong track question, I'd say I definitely feel the country is on the wrong track.

However, I fully plan on voting for Obama. Again. Where I oppose him is from the left. Why on Earth would I vote for Romney??!

Because he's whatever you want him to be.

Nikki Sixx is an idiot. Worse yet, he's a bad bass player.

BTW, I met Lemmy once. He's even uglier up close - and, of course, more godlike.

2012-05-07 03:58:54 PM
T.M.S.: Where did the article say he was a Republican?

When a drug-addled heavy metal rock guy gets a softball pat on the head article from Breitbart, it's a foregone conclusion that he's in the tank for their preferred candidate. And Breitbart's preferred candidate is now, and forever will be, a Republican.

2012-05-07 04:02:56 PM
Fox and friends: Why does the president have all these celebrities at the WHCA dinner? Its stupid. All those stuck-up liberals just love him because he's black. What are your thoughts on this Ted Nugent?

And Santorum looks like he just Santorumed in his pants.

Sources say he heard the Obama DOJ didn't back off prosecuting medical pot and the Paul wing of the fascist party bribed him with $20K, a cure for his raging syphilis, and the promise that he can join Ted's Nugget on the RONPAULRONPAUL victory tour bill. No joshin'. Sources say.

I need the the big S.B.'s opinion before I cast my vote this November.

I thought it was a commentary on the relentless march of progress -- the very ideas that seem so progressive and revolutionary today will be trite and old-fashioned in 20 years' time.

Of course, the fact that "conservative" has now become synonymous with "reactionary" might change that.

2012-05-07 04:21:50 PM
It's reassuring to see that as much as we bicker and argue here in the politics tab, we can all agree that Lemmy rules.

Uzzah: "It only takes 20 years for a liberal to become a conservative without changing a single idea." - Robert Anton Wilson

Which is precisely why one should not allow 20 years to pass without changing a single idea. In fact, failure to change a single idea over the course of 20 years is pretty good evidence of brain death.

Remember that King of the Hill episode where they wanted to become Harlot Town and held the AVN awards..The Mr. Strickland says "It makes a difference when sleazy people think it's too sleazy"....
That is all.

Lionel Mandrake: I_Am_Weasel: Just how large is the "Vote How Nikki Vote's" demographic, anyway?

one. Nikki himself. Assuming he's sober enough to remember to register, and sober enough to remember to vote.

And that he's not a convicted felon.

lilbjorn: T.M.S.: He's writing a Broadway musical. Republicans don't write Broadway musicals.

So he's a Log Cabin Republican.

If that's the case he is doing a good job hiding it. He bangs about a thousand groupies in the first act alone.

Gary Glitter? really?

Nope, Nugent. When he was 30 he became the legal guardian of a 17 year old because he couldn't legally marry her.

2012-05-07 05:03:26 PM
I don't really support Obama anymore, either. At least not nearly as much as when he took office. But you can bet your ass I'm damn well voting for him again.

I'm enthralled by the opinion of a guy who needed to move away from the heroin lifestyle except the part of glamorizing it for income.

17 years old might still be jailbait, but the ones I see around town are hardly children.

It's unamerican to criticize our president during a time of war. It gives comfort and aid to the terrorists. Shame on Nikki Sixx.

2012-05-07 05:22:12 PM
Maybe Mitt Romney will have a few songs to play on the campaign trail this summer after all, the kind that will shake up his so-called "stiff" persona once and for all.

Yeah, the poster band for heroine and Poser Satanism (whooo! look at our scary pentagram in our video! aren't we badass and rebellious!) is now being played on car commercials, and Republican political campaigns are soon to follow. Isn't that special.

2012-05-07 05:24:40 PM
Oh no. Whatever will he do without two washed-up second string guitarists. How will he cope. Where will he go.

rudemix: I'm enthralled by the opinion of a guy who needed to move away from the heroin lifestyle except the part of glamorizing it for income.

How do you see him glamorizing it? He portrays heroin as a pretty foul thing.
