Yeah...I don't even let my husband call me at work unless it is a super emergency which has never happened yet. When I'm at work I am focused on work. It isn't time for chit-chatting with the family. Some of my co-workers are terrible about this. If you need to have a half an hour conversation at work with your spouse then you are doing something terribly wrong. Send an email or a text, but I don't want to listen about how little Timmy finally took his first poop in the big potty.

Portia: It's just after 9 am and my Monday would be greatly improved if this turned into a dog thread.

Okay. Two dogs for the price of one. They had never met before and spent the weekend chasing and wrestling each other. This was a rare resting moment late in the weekend.

Hi, master. I kinda ate that new chew toy you got me.
I think the squeaker might still be intact - UUURGH! Yep, there it is.
Are you coming back soon or am I to go "Bear Grylls" on this steamer?

I'm rolling, man. My face hurts. +11 to you.

This is actually less retarded than most things pet owners come up with.

Notice that "less retarded" is a relative term.

13 per cent of pet owners would even choose their pet over their partner.
...because their pet can't constantly nag them and complain about what a loser they are.

I guess I'm a sad human...

I'm planning on getting a puppy here pretty soon, The Skype idea seemed pretty cool to me.

Maybe not to talk to the dog, but to check in. See how he's doing. I can't really do anything at work, but hey oh well.

Heck I could setup my old laptop with the camera, sit it on the floor by the crate.

Still might do it. Hell the dog doesn't care. It's just for me.

Considering a dog in the future, was always a cat person but recently realized I'm extremely allergic to them. Grew up with a cat but we all assumed I had hayfever. Dog photos are making me want one so bad :P

It's just a job. Relax.

OTOH, I agree about the coworkers who yammer on forever. I work with someone who screams at her kids. I just look at it as further proof that remaining childless was the right choice for me*.

The middle section of your dog blends in the concrete. I was just glancing at the pic and it freaked me out that tail and head seemed to be just floating there.

I have a webcam setup to keep an eye on my dog. Its nice, i learned that despite being nice and quiet while I'm with him, he howls like a mofo when I'm gone.

I'm thinking about setting up IM so that anytime i send a message to the computer, it plays a clip of me telling him to STFU. I did read though that dogs are way more responsive in person, and even with your back to them you may as well be gone.

Haha, I've actually called my mother and just had the pigs make their little wheeks and purring noises. And whenever I go to New Hope, I call her while I'm feeding the ducks and they're quacking like crazy (she loves ducks).

We're very strange people.

While all the pup lovers are out...anyone have tips for getting my dog to shush while I'm at work? I think i just need to increase his love for his room, and wear him down with long walks, but other thoughts are welcomed.

Yes. Even if you're looking straight at them and they think they're well hidden, they just ignore it, because you can't see them and therefor it does not count.

The dog in the stock photo in TFA is a dead ringer for my dog.

I had considered setting up a webcam to see what she does all day, but since I started teleworking with some regularity I have had a chance to see for myself; she sleeps. All. Goddamn. Day.

Which is, to say, a good dog. Previous neighbor had a dog who barked. All. Goddamn. Day. Sleeping is much better.

She sure is a cutie.

Suzy is part Australian Cattle Dog too. Luckily the brain, voice and faithful part. I have talked to a few people that have had ACDs and they always comment about the faithfullness of the breed. Then I got Suzy and I understand what they were talking about.

The nose is 100% Beagle.

I can't see the picture at work, but it's been my experience that if they don't have a clue what kind of dog it is, they call it an Aussie Shepherd because it sounds better than "random pit" or "mutt".

The only problem I have with Little Bit is that she has energy. All day. Every day. If I kick her tinkleball by accident at 11:00PM, she is off her bed and ready to go. I can only manage to get her out for walks for about an hour and a half every day, but when we get back home, she rushes to the water bowl, drinks, then stands there and looks at me like "Okay. Warm-up's done. Now what?"
