First thing I thought of was this

2012-05-07 09:05:09 AM
How empty does your life have to be before calling from work to chat with your pet?

2012-05-07 09:06:14 AM
but imagine how full your life would be if your pet called you at work.. just to chat.

Hello ... Is it me you're looking for?

It's just after 9 am and my Monday would be greatly improved if this turned into a dog thread.

People like this should be spayed or neutered.

I've spoken to a few biatches on the phone, but never an actual dog.

Maybe they just need to find religion to fill their lives.

Never used Skype like this... but I DID once set up a USB Nerf missile launcher hooked up to my MacBook, set up so I could remotely access the computer and its webcam and shoot the missile at my cats from work. Couldn't aim the thing worth a damn, but it was amusing confusing the heck out of the cats...

I agree with the Weenerser -- utter rubbish. No one does this.

Bulltshiat. That's like the wave of articles about sexting at the old folks home. Nothing but article writers with too much imagination.

I don't know, I'd rather call my dog than most of the people I have to talk to on the phone during the course of a normal working day. And my dog would probably just sit on the other end making those disgusting slurping noises they make when they lick themselves. If she didn't freak out at the disembodied voice and start barking like a lunatic.

CSS: My dog talks on the phone. My daughter calls me every night when she's at her dad's house, and sometimes, she asks to talk to the dog. So, I've taught the dog to "speak" whenever I show her the phone.

I've considered putting her on the phone with telemarketers...
Telemarketer: Hello, may I speak to Ms. girljen?
Me: Yes, here she is.
Dog: BOWOWWWOOOOWOWOOOOO--BARK!!

That's my tried-and-true method for picking up Farkettes over the phone. The ladies love it.

Usually it is the dog that has separation anxiety not the owners. These people need counselling; that or more work to fill their day.

Hi, master. I kinda ate that new chew toy you got me.
I think the squeaker might still be intact - UUURGH! Yep, there it is.
Are you coming back soon or am I to go "Bear Grylls" on this steamer?

Or it could be precisely out of concern for said separation anxiety of the dog. Just throwing out a crazy "it was right in the article" idea, here.

/not much of an article-- it sounds like a "trend" of one couple and their dog.

Always fun to guess how some tags end up attaching to stories like this.

It has to be pretty empty if you substitute a pet for human interaction

For some reason there's been a recent resurgence of "hello yes this is dog" on the webs I frequent. I dunno why, it's just funny.

If my dog heard my voice coming from the computer speakers he would most likely try to free me from captivity by utterly destroying it.
He is helpful that way.

I'm pretty sure one of my Siberians (the one in my profile) just lays on the rug by the front door and awaits my return. He's laying in the same spot when I leave and when I come home. He'd be boring to watch on Skype. The other one is a hell raiser though. I'm pretty sure she has a blast when I'm not home.

It seems to serve a purpose. The dude checking on his puppy and finding her crying all day inspired him to get her a friend.

Those ones are funny because so many people assume a cat thinks of you as anything more than a food source. They're just hoping you die alone in the house. That's the big score.
