this Amebix song kind of sucks. the video is cool, though.

Fister a Bronson and Bathory-worshipping sludge doom power trio from St. Louis

The Lion's Daughter also from StL, they have a grungy Craft meets High On Fire sound.

French Sh*t

Blaspheme
Rozz
Sortilege
Attentat Rock
ADX
Demon Eyes
High Power

All of the above is awesome old school sh*t from the 80s.

Amebix is good stuff, though I'm more a fan of the earlier albums.

Picked up the new Angel Witch, Hammerfall's No Sacrifice, No Victory, and Labyrinth's self titled this past week. Now in the mood for some trad and power metal. New Angel Witch is amazing, btw.

I saw Behemoth and Watain play last night. I'm pretty pissed we showed up too late to see The Devil's Blood. Watain killed it as usual but only played 6 or 7 songs closing with The Waters of Ain. Nergal seems back to his old energetic self, just a little skinnier and with a buzz cut. Good show overall.

It's weird that this week's top ten metal albums of 2012 thread had more posts asking about SHMHC than this week's actual SHMHC thread.

That is pretty strange. Kindof makes me wonder what would happen if the SHMHC threads were posted to entertainment instead of video....

/good to hear that Nergal's back to form

HighZoolander: Mammoth Mammoth - Go (kickin' stoner doom/rock; NSFW picture)

That there is some quality neck-breakin swing, tellyawut. Wish they offered a digital release themselves, I really can't afford $30 for a disc imported from Australia.

Sunday Heavy Metal House Call, if you're genuinely curious.

Somehow I missed that thread and now I'm sad that I didn't get a chance to biatch at that horrible (with the exception of Overkill and Napalm Death) list.

Reading through that thread: so many burned and died.

I saw them Friday night in Charlotte. 5 bands on the ticket. The first was some death metal band that was just terrible. The only redeeming quality was that one of the guys looked just like William Murderface. In Solitude was a decent opener. They weren't bad, but they also weren't very exciting. The music was pretty good. The Devil's Blood really impressed me although they didn't really go with the rest of the bands on the tour. More laid back and relaxed music but still dark and atmospheric. The female singer has a witch-like appearance and a beautiful voice. Very talented guitarists. However, I hope the guy behind me that kept yelling "show us your titties" got in a car crash on the ride home and burned up in the wreckage. Watain was amazing but played a really short set. 5 or so songs all from Lawless Darkness. No Stellarvore or Sworn to the Dark. Behemoth was epic. Nergal came out and screamed "It's good to be alive. Never give up. Keep marching forward" and everyone went crazy. Definitely worth $20.

/Lamb of God fans are the worst concert goers. 2 complete insufferable asses at the show both wearing LOG t-shirts. I got in a fist fight with one after he punched my wife in the back just for the lulz. He wasn't laughing very long.

I was a little surprised at the turnout in Baltimore. Behemoth is pretty mainstream so I expected a lot of jocks but only spotted a few collared shirts. I'd say close to 35% of the crowd was hispanic, under 5 feet tall, and wearing a full black metal uniform. There was also a lot of black people both male and female, which was cool to see.
