The Bestest: Rex_Banner: Yankees win, Rays lose.

If the O's win, they'll be atop the AL East.

First-place Orioles beat last-place Red Sox.

Has a nice ring to it.

2012-05-06 05:47:25 PM
Broktun: And how are your feeling today?

Damn bullpen ;)

They still haven't allowed an earned run in umpteen innings. :p

The O's will either find a way to win or lose epically. Either way it'll be memorable.

2012-05-06 05:50:03 PM
HAHAHA, HE HIT IT ALL THE WAY AND ONLY GOT A SINGLE?!

2012-05-06 05:51:02 PM
And up comes the guy who wasn't good enough to play for the Cubs.

CavalierEternal: robsul82: CavalierEternal: scandalrag: I never get tired of watching Roger Dorn Mark Reynolds try to field ground balls.

Come on Reynolds, get in front of the damn ball! Don't give me this "olé" bullsh*t!

And then they're gonna retcon Reynolds into a shiatty player for the sequel?

Well, they retconned him into a retired player at first, then he became the owner, then he sold the team back to Rachel Phelps and unretired into a bench player who only came in during the playoffs when they needed someone to step in front of a pitch to get a runner to first.

Yeah, they just totally ignored that Dorn in the first one was supposed to be quite a good player, just lazy/unwilling to exert himself "for a collection of stiffs," because he was going to be an FA after the season. Very aggravating, for some reason, lol.

To the 13th at Fenway.

Well, there was this exchange:

Lou Brown: I thought you said we didn't have any high priced talent.
Charlie Donovan: Forget about Dorn, he's just high priced.

That at least implies that Dorn didn't have talent.

But yeah, the rest of the film set him up as a decent ballplayer who just didn't give a fark

Eh, that was more in reference to Dorn being a lazy jerk, but yeah. I guess Corbin Bernsen losing his hair and getting kinda chunky between the movies made producers think they should just pretend he always sucked.

2012-05-06 06:22:34 PM
Mark Reynolds has walked 4 times in this game. The entire Red Sox lineup has only walked 3 times

Maybe his wife cheating on him made him lose his focus and farked him up so bad psychologically that he ended up being washed up by the time the second movie began.

/I love that we're discussing character development from Major League

2012-05-06 06:43:41 PM
Yanks just need a Bahston win to have all games go the right way today.

2012-05-06 06:52:43 PM
Pedroia watches strike 3 go by. On to the 15th

2012-05-06 06:52:46 PM
To the 15th!

2012-05-06 06:54:54 PM
robsul82: To the 15th!

Orioles have their last reliever (Jim Johnson) in the game now. Could get interesting if it goes past this inning.

2012-05-06 07:01:35 PM
And the Os only have their backup catcher left on the bench. Bring someone in to pitch and put Johnson in OF, letting him throw alternate innings?

2012-05-06 07:02:59 PM
Nice job, Wieters! Now let's end this.

2012-05-06 07:05:28 PM
Davis - 5 K, 1 GIDP, 1 weak ass groundout.

2012-05-06 07:06:42 PM
Oh, right, AL baseball, stupid DH shenanigans possible.

2012-05-06 07:09:37 PM
To the 16th!

2012-05-06 07:13:25 PM
Chris Davis warming up in the pen for the Os

We'll most likely see one of the starters come in to pitch next. What really sucks is that Baltimore doesn't have a scheduled day off until the 24th.

liverpool1892: Chris Davis warming up in the pen for the Os

Oh. Well...if he's proved anything today, it's that he knows how to get the strikeout.

2012-05-06 07:17:32 PM
Great catch by Pedroia to end the top of the 16th.

2012-05-06 07:17:43 PM
Wow, Pedroia.

2012-05-06 07:18:02 PM

/red sox fan

2012-05-06 07:18:08 PM
Nice grab to end the inning

2012-05-06 07:19:53 PM
Well you've got your LH pitchers, your RH pitchers, and now your DH pitcher, Chris Davis.

2012-05-06 07:20:36 PM
Red Sox DH warming up.

2012-05-06 07:20:41 PM
89 mph on the first pitch - Jamie Moyer seen quaking in his boots.

/90 mph on the second one

2012-05-06 07:21:14 PM
Chris Davis strikes out Salty, hahaha.

2012-05-06 07:21:23 PM
Davis gets the strikeout on an 83mph changeup!

2012-05-06 07:22:28 PM
So when you activate your DH, you lose the DH and the pitcher has to hit. But if you activate the DH by making him the pitcher, you still have a DH hitting in place of the pitcher because the DH is the pitcher.

2012-05-06 07:24:15 PM
TO THE 17th, HAHAHAHA!

2012-05-06 07:25:04 PM
this game is awesome

2012-05-06 07:25:15 PM
That was one hell of an inning for a DH.

2012-05-06 07:26:48 PM
Red Sox DH is in now too - he can only throw 82.

2012-05-06 07:27:46 PM
3-0. I don't know if this McDonald kid has a future here.

2012-05-06 07:28:25 PM
irishman4: Rex_Banner: So when you activate your DH, you lose the DH and the pitcher has to hit. But if you activate the DH by making him the pitcher, you still have a DH hitting in place of the pitcher because the DH is the pitcher.

what?

So let's say it's the 5th inning and you make your DH play first base and take your first baseman out of the game. You can't place someone else in the game as the DH because you activated your DH. The DH-turned-first baseman stays in the game in his normal spot in the lineup, but the pitcher now has to hit.

In this case, the DH was activated as the pitcher. So the pitcher has to hit. But the pitcher and the DH are the same guy.

2012-05-06 07:28:32 PM
MacDonald steps off the rubber - I wonder how his pickoff move is...

2012-05-06 07:28:37 PM
Leadoff walk.

2012-05-06 07:29:29 PM
Geez, Betemit, not a good 15 minutes in your career.

2012-05-06 07:29:37 PM
DAMMIT BETEMITE, THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RUN!

2012-05-06 07:29:40 PM
Is Betemit a double agent?
