If yesterday is any indication, the Big One will be somewhere around 5 laps to go.

I've been looking for news about Eric McClure. All I could find is a tweet from Kenny Wallace who talked to McClure's crew chief, who said he's "doing good."

Anyone else have an update?

Lets go Carl!

I have been waiting for this forever.

NASCAR.com says green flag at 1:20 PM ET. This pre-race thing is getting slightly ridiculous.

This from another forum:
From Eric McClure's Facebook page: Eric is awake and alert. He has pain in the right arm and leg. He's going to be bruised and sore for a while but should be okay. They are keeping him in the hospital overnight for observation.

I think June Your gets the win today that NASCAR so desperately needs.

2012-05-06 12:19:32 PM
Go 31

Did y'all see the nationwide race? Joey Loganos balls finally dropped.

They've been saying that all week.

I'm guessing a bit later.

Jayski has a nice countdown to the green, although it can be inaccurate if weather changes the start time or we flipped to or from DST.

After the last couple days I really want to watch this one, but I'm traveling today. Hopefully Westjet gets Fox on its seatback TVs...

Go MWR!

I am not banking on any hendrick drivers winning this, heck, I think Menard might pull something off. Yeah... Hell just needs to freeze over is all.

2012-05-06 12:27:36 PM
Thanks Tsrwedge for the update!

How come JJ is already in his fire suit, but Michael's not?

2012-05-06 12:28:07 PM
Also, hour long, expanded coverage.... I just see them pointing out the obvious, I would rather them expand the commercials over this.

I went to a garage sale the other day and saw a Jimmie Johnson toy for $2. As I only carry plastic on me, I didn't get it. It'd have gone to TKat though so he could integrate it into the idol.

At work once again. Hopefully I have Memorial Day weekend off so I can join you guys. But if I a) get a moment and b) need to personally tell TKat to hook the idol up to ten auxillary power sources, I will pop in.

Kurt Busch is running the Ricky Bobby car today. Not sure how to feel about this.

One of the start-and-parkers, Josh Wise in the 26, actually put together a legitimately decent qualifying run (16th). Wonder if they'll bother keeping the car on the track for more than 30 laps this week?

Jensaarai and I had part of this conversation yesterday. The lack of radio communication is just stupid.

This made me laugh :) Quit that. I pulled a muscle yesterday due to allergies an coughing. Laughing hurts now.

I'm trying to, but my love for the paint scheme is conflicting with my disdain for the driver. Also, why not have a Jean Girard car in the field as well?

Gonna make a store run myself, back after a while.

Yes, but they used to race without all sorts of safety devices too. Why not use the technology that is available?

I normally don't watch too much Nascar, but will admit when I heard Kurt was driving the 'Ricky Bobby' car, it hooked me.

I bet it's not how I feel with the image of Kurt Busch running around in helmet and tighty whities screaming his head off.

But now Imma go do the most anti-pre-race NASCAR thing I can think of. read a book.

I'm probably one of the few, but I love restrictor plate races. The races that are interminably boring are the 1.5 mile cookie-cutter races. Didn't we see that race last week and the three before that?

No, this is balls-out, hold on to your ass racing today, and aside from the skill it takes to race like that for 500 miles it takes guts. It's a shame that it's virtually guaranteed to be marred with at least one big accident.
