For the record:

LA vs Phoenix: 3-2-1 (but they last played in February when the Coyotes went 13-0-1 that month)

Looks like the East could be a big part of the hold up. Game 7s in both of those series are scheduled for May 12 and with both of them close right now, the NHL may be just saying they're going to work off the the idea that the two match-ups will go far.

And maybe scheduling at Staples? Although the Kings-whatever series won't start in LA, the Staples Center is hosting the Kings, Lakers and Clippers in the playoffs right now. I feel bad for the person who has to make those three playoff schedules work.

Alright. so this is a thing? whatever. Your Weeners could have been taken as a "joke", but the follow-up (you don't know how odds work in Vegas, idiot) implied otherwise.
I do apologize if it was "a joke" though. I suggest making them funny.

LA, St Louis and Nashville all had great attendance this season and, from what I understand, have had pretty solid attendance prior to that. Also, they had more fans show up than New Jersey.

The Kings are playing great, no doubt, and win this series at some point regardless; but, someone might want to tell the Blues that committing 4,000 retaliatory penalties on Dustin Brown in a 4-game stretch is not conducive to winning hockey games.

They'll learn and be better next year for it, but I was incredibly disappointed with their lack of discipline.

I'd really like to know what Washington's attendance was before Ovechkin came onto the scene. My hunch: pretty mediocre. In any event, as much as I am a fan of four of the Original Six teams (and I like the Flyers, too), I would be really happy to see the Kings hoist the Cup this year. This team is awesome and fun to watch, and has long had a dedicated group of fans supporting the club over the years. St Louis winning the Cup would have been grand, too.

Lol, get outta here with your stereotyping nonsense. L.A. as a city may not be driven by hockey like Detroit or many Canadian cities might be, but the Kings themselves have a very solid fan base and have been ahead of teams like Boston and NJ in per-game attendance during most years. Plus their attendance numbers are very consistent; talk about fairweather... Chicago has been 1st in some years and practically LAST in attendance not 3 years earlier.

Dang, as a Coyotes fan I'm never over confident, but you really think they'll drop 3 straight? It did happen against the Blues in the 1st a few years back, This is a pretty straight up match so far & I think that'd be a stretch.
I do want the Rangers in the finals (aplogize for the assumption) because 1 seeds make the season relevent and gives you a bad guy.

I've been to an LA Kings game when they were playing Phoenix, the place was loud. Not sold out, but the people who were there care a whole heck of a lot. I'd wager that on a given night the place is at least 2/3's full. I'd love to see LA do well and get some longterm fans that will stay and not need Gretsky to get them in the seats. And that comes from someone who moved here from New England.

Lol, Philly East vs. Philly West.
I do love having Richards, but I also miss Simmonds. From what I've seen he has been playing really well over there.
Also, how is Schenn doing? I thought he had great potential and in his early games he always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, but kept having really bad luck when it came to actually putting it in the net (miraculous saves/deflections/etc).

Nashville is certainly capable of winning the next two and pushing it to a 7th game

remember the first round where the Coyotes choked on multiple ocassions in the last minute?

Not exactly a team one should have that much confidence in

Nah. You're wrong.
Your false assumption is that they're sharing a pool of sports fans that has to be shared like a pie. If that were true, it would be true during the regular season too since there is so much overlap between the hockey and BBall seasons. Yet, the Kings have great and consistent attendance. During last season the Kings were sitting 18,000/gm, and this season was every so slightly less (17,9) even with the NBA lockout. If the teams were competing for fans you'd imagine that the NBA fans would come to more Kings games with the NBA on hold, yet they didn't. So your argument doesn't really seem to make any sense at all.

Like I said, while the city isn't hockey-driven, the team has its own base. L.A. is big enough that there is room for millions of primarily Lakers fans AND millions of primarily Kings fans that don't necessarily overlap to a huge enough degree to dictate which team draws crowds.

Haha, I don't really think so. I was actually confident that the Kings could pull that one out, or at least make it a good series. We split our games during the regular season and we were playing well leading up to the playoffs.

Now the 93' playoffs... THAT was an upset. The 'Nucks had our number all season, I don't think we had won a single game against them until the playoffs. Man that was a long time ago, lol. The Canucks still had their old black and orange jerseys XD
