If both Manchester teams win out, it will be the first time the Premier League champion won on goal differential.

2012-05-06 10:27:32 AM
So unless we see City lose at home in the league for the first time, or Manchester United drop 12 on Swans and Sunderland, wrap that trophy in blue ribbons now, and just carve their name on the body.

Yaya Toure is the testicular fortitude the challengers and "challengers" lack.

That's the title done. Congratulations City. Congratulations City fans.

I wouldn't hate one more Aston Villa goal right now

Spurs have equalized from the peno spot. Ade keeps 10 men spurs in it. I'm on the bus now so all I have is the live text.

Liam Ridgewell tries a clearance, smacks it off of teammate Billy Jones and it goes back of the net.

I hope Joey Barton gets another red card in that match so we get one last end-of-season Twitter rant.

De Jong and Barton get into a fight, both get sent off, City loses, but i the 90th minute in a 0-0 draw at Sunderland, Michael Owen own goals, rips off his United jersey to show his 2001 Liverpool kit, sings YNWA, and boards a helicopter to Merseyside.

Oh who are we kidding, they aren't beating City at home. They need Bolton to lose.

I will probably only get to see some of the United match. Hoping for a 5-0 victory to get rid of some of the bad taste in my mouth from the results today.

The most implausible part of that scenario is Michael Owen actually being on the pitch. Now if you said he rode in on one of his horsies like the midget wannabe jockey he is, that is more believable.

The only reason I want Bolton to stay up is so that Stuart Holden has a shot Premier League games next season. Still hate Johnny Evans for that tackle.

All those who thought arsenal would still be third after losing yesterday, step forward. Not so fast, everyone on the planet!

A man can dream, can't he? Why must you crush my dreams?

Okay how about this: Chicharito, puts out a press release right before the match decrying the American owners, own goals in the 90 t give Sunderland the win, tears off his United kit to reveal his El Tri kit, yells "Viva la revolucion!", puts on a giant oversized sombrero, and takes a speedboat out of Manchester harbor to an awaiting cruise ship to Guadalajara.

They drew, they didn't lose. But yeah, your point still stands. Figures spurs shiat the bed on the most important game of the season.

Actually next week's QPR game has my shiatting myself as a City fan. Having the title in the bag on the last day and losing to QPR just screams "typical City" to me.

When you put it that way, it does sound pretty plausible...

Yeah, it really has the perfect setup for a big let down. I'm not sure QPR is good enough to win, but a draw wouldn't surprise me at all... ...of course, with the way this weekend is going, it wouldn't surprise me for Swans to take points from United today.

Odd. My guesses were closer than I thought they'd be this week. Very happy that I was wrong about Tottenham's final line.

This really is set up for a fantastic final week. I kind of hope Rovers beat Wigan tomorrow to add to the chaos at the bottom, but the fact that Wigan can avoid relegation with a win is remarkable in and of it self. Fun times...

Agreed. Next week will be awesome, as well as the Champions League final the week after. So many storylines still active:

- Man City could trip up in their last game, opening the door for Utd to with the League
- The race for third is still separated by only two points between Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle
- A Champions League win by Chelsea could still nullify the fourth place in the Table
- The last relegation spot has four teams separated by only three points (A win by Wigan tomorrow notwithstanding)

looking at the new wembley during the cup final and the rumors of a battersea power station stadium for chelsea i can't help but to think that the fa should have built the replacement for wembley at battersea power station. that would have made an incredible badass national stadium and the twin towers wouldn't have had to be torn down.

replace the blue "chelsea fc" with st george's flag or something like that...a national stadium in a national icon

The Ireland squad for the Euros will be announced in a few hours. The rumour mill suggests one of our main players will miss out for "personal reasons."

I can't help but feel that the FA should have spent its money on developing a youth system like Spain or Germany and played international games at Old Trafford, The Emirates, St James' Park, Villa Park, St. Mary's, etc.
