Lionel Mandrake: subby f*cked up. Should have said "private" not "public"

Remember the Republican motto: Government spending doesn't create jobs, it just creates work that people get paid for.

Ok, so this means President Obama has created only a couple hundred thousand jobs, right?

/even I'm not sure if I'm serious

FTFA: As of April, there are now more private sector jobs in the United States than there were in January 2009, when President Obama took office...We have now replaced all of the private sector jobs lost while Obama has been president....Unfortunately, the news is not nearly so good when it comes to the public sector, where there are currently 607,000 fewer people working than there were when President Obama took office.

Odd. I remember distinctly being told that its metaphysically impossible for the government to create a single job...

So under Obama, private sector jobs have gone up very dramatically while he has shrunk government, kept Gitmo open, killed bin Laden, cut taxes. been a great friend of Wall Street and has deported more illegal immigrants than the previous president.

Why exactly do the Republicans hate this guy?

Right on both counts... I would also add to that list, "they're a bunch a farking power hungry idiots".

If Obama had an "R" after his name Fox News would host a nightly Q&A with him featuring RNC interns asking him why he is so amazing and what caliber bullet he shot Bin Laden in the face with, and then Hannity would get on his knees and perform fellatio until his face was covered in Obama's All-American Patriot man juice.

I disagree. That is completely wrong.

It would be Hannity and either Coulter or Malkin doing the fellatio.

The relative loss of public sector jobs, as Lionel Mandrake points out, means that the unions that support Obama lost members.

I knew all the public sector jobs couldn't have come back, because all the Republican governors wouldn't allow it in their states.

Wow. The spinderpsters are working triple OT.

Now, back in the real world, the jobs numbers came out, it looks like we're headed for a double dip, the stock market tanked on anemic growth and oil prices dropped sharply in anticipation that it won't be needed because there will be no increase in shipping demand.

In a few weeks, gas prices will fall because of this and I'm sure the spinsters won't blame the crappy economic outlook but probably say it's the new oversight on speculation (even though selling is still speculation).

It is tough. I have done a spectacular job at my current job. Everybody at my location wants to hire me. Corporate, in Pittsburgh, PA, doesn't like paying for indirect costs. Large corporations are more dysfunctional than government agencies.

The private sector added 130K jobs in March while March and February were adjusted up. You'll not find a Democrat on the planet who claims this growth rate is enough, but it's still growth. And if you're going to beat the drum that this is the President's fault, name one jobs bill the Republican House has passed that the President has refused to sign.

He thinks the stock market tanked today. He is a bit...retarded. The stock market would have to tank about 6000 points to go back to Bush levels.

Nope. I don't follow them at all. Wall Street does though and I lose real money when they lose confidence. If you don't think that the confidence of investors is what drives up jobs and vice versa, you're the one without a clue. Notice that I didn't "take a side." The economic outlook is what it is. Wall Street did tank today on jobs outlook. Oil prices did decline today in anticipation of less demand (i.e. negative growth). Those are facts. The people that suck are the ones that try to spin it into something that it isn't like the article of this thread. It's a global economy and a lot of the issues are still European in origin but it still affects jobs and the economy in the U.S. No investor looked at the reports today and said "Hey look! the private sector has recovered!" That should be obvious to everyone, even you. Maybe especially you. The people that are responsible for the nonsense in the article want you to pretend that everything has been fixed. Do you believe them?

The private sector is hiring because they are confident that Romney will win in November, and that Republicans will win control over the House and Senate.

Its the only explanation that makes sense.
