When I think of 'Least likely Senator to be a Beastie Boys fan' I immediately think of Chuck Schumer. Or so I did until I saw his tweet. Now I'll have to give John McCain that title.

Yeah, that blew my mind when I saw that retweeted earlier today. I'm sure he had some intern or someone tell him that he should post something, but, still, it's pretty cool.

Maybe it's like that episode of News Radio where Phil Hartman's character loved rap didn't realize it had lyrics because his car stereo was busted.

Co-worker and I did a double-take at the radio when we heard this morning.

Bummer.

I think Adam Yauch should be celebrated as much for his dedication to spirituality and support for Tibet as much as for his music.

I will never forget going to the Tibetan freedom concert at RFK stadium and seeing monks work all day on a giant chalk mandala, it was so beautiful and intricate and it took them so many hours of concentration and dedication to create this work of art....

And when they were finished, they just blew all the dust away and it was gone forever.

Talk about practicing what you preach. Think about how far other religions would have to go to so concretely demonstrate what they believe. Imagine Pat Robertson going down to Hunt's Point, humbly washing the feet of every skanky hooker and methhead he found.

Did Bloomberg really have to make the leap that MCA's aweomeness somehow proves that New York is better than anyplace else?

Suck it, Bloomberg.

RIP MCA, thanks for the tunes. Hope you're in the back, skeezin with the whores.

You do understand that none of the political figures run their twitter accounts. Most of these are from interns. You know, the young people who know how to operate computers.

Not to mention MCA's Tibetan freedom concerts and charities. You don't get on the Dalai Lama's speed dial without people knowing about it.

As their duty, they've all sworn to support and defend the US Constitution, including the first amendment clause that gives the "right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Or, in layman's terms: THEY'VE GOTTA FIGHT... FOR OUR RIGHT... TO PAAAAAAAARTAY!

No it's not, the guy leeches on to every story, big or small. He always has to get his name out there.

And Mayor Jewburg, do not talk about cool, no amount of money will change your wooden personality.

That's what I thought. Then I realized: that means Mitt Romney took his 12-13 year old kid to a Beastie Boys concert .

/Just let that sink in.
