I have examined the most recent 990 filed by United Cancer Services of Elkhart County, found it to be in compliance with IRS requirements, I have reviewed the audited statments and found them to be properly attested and find that the staff and non-program expenses fall well within the acceptable range for organizations similarly situated. I give my unqualified approval to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County and in doing so indemnify all donors who donate through GD's link should any financial irregularities become evident in the future, or if there are any material misstatements in their audits or filings with the IRS.

It's more than an opinion, it's an indemnity agreement. It means that if there are any financial irregularities at United Cancer Services of Elkhart County, feckingmorons agrees to personally pay you back the money you donated.

I do not have cancer, but if anyone wants to donate some money to my charity (Buy Mock26 Food and Booze) please feel free to send me some money. I promise you that I do not need the money but I will definitely put it to good use! I also promise that I will spend the money on nothing but food and booze (and any appropriate taxes that go with said purchases).

Yes, it is an enforceable contract. If you donate through Grable's Daughters link and they don't use your contribution in the way they say they will on their website I will return your money to you.

I am not affiliated with the organization in any way, in fact I don't even know where Elkhart county is (especially when I tried three times to find United Cancer Services of Elkhat county when I first searched for their filings.

Now, I've tried to change it to $500.00, which is closer to what I would like to raise, but the page won't seem to let me - see the first sentence that I wrote on that page.

Well since I am a tax attorney and work at the largest professional services (accounting) firm in the world and I've probably read in excess of 5000 990s in my lifetime from a R&Q perspective, and I have subscription based tools at my disposal that facilitate the vetting of organizations such as this, I am quite able to quickly perform needed research. While I am not in tax compliance (the filing of tax forms with various government agencies) I have a thorough understanding of all pertinent portions of the Internal Revenue Code and can offer such opinion and guarantees with the utmost confidence.

After all it is my personal money on the line if it is a scam and Farkers are injured.

How much did you donate?

Have a nice day.

Um, thanks for being a jerk and assuming that this is the only way that I am raising funds for UCS.

The FACTS are that I volunteer there A LOT and I raise money for them A LOT.

THIS link was created for raising money from Fark. I have another pledge form to turn in tomorrow with the money that I have raised from my friends and neighbors.

A number of people on Fark are very giving of their time, effort and resources. In fact I know of one TF'er who has given over seventeen thousand dollars to charitable organizations that were mentioned on Fark.

While the work you do for the charitable organizations is admirable, it does not diminish the contributions others make through their efforts - in whatever manner those efforts are directed - to the charitable organizations that they hold dear.

My great grandfather, God rest his soul, had a saying that I think is most appropriate. "Shut your fecking gob." I'd appreciate it if you would consider his sage advice.

You know what's funny...

GD is trying to do a good thing here, and everyone solicits for their charities in their community, whether it's work, school, church or online. Cancer being a worthwhile cause, I have no problem with this. But apparently a lot of people do. And it's fark, so, you know, criticism comes with the territory. And I also have no problem with this, if people don't want to donate that's fine. But I'm struck with a sense of irony when this 'good thing' is met with such criticism, but when stepdad loses his little adoptee for a weekend and anyone criticizes that thread they are Banninated!!! I guess cancer is free game but when it comes to stepdads and precious little snowflakes - that crosses the line?

/maybe I'm just getting old.

Grables'Daughter: Again, the link to donate to my fundraiser page is HERE.

Chipped in, I'll also post your donation page to my FB page when I get home. I'll see if my family members who love to post pics with saying about how they care about cancer will put their money where their mouse is.
